Why are you interested in participating in an internship at The Museum of

Modern Art?
Art and culture have always been appealing to me. Thus, I pursued such
undergraduate and master/postgraduate degrees. Since the beginning of my
studies I observed fluctuations in the interest of people to attend exhibitions
and interact with cultural organisations. Starting my career as Museum
Educator at the Foundation of the Hellenic World I had the opportunity to dive
deeper in audience engagement and gain practical and theoretical training in
the museum field by designing and implementing educational tours and
programmes. This experience was a mandatory step to proceed to my future
goal. My MA in Museums and Galleries in Education helped me better
understand the role of museums in contemporary society and provided me
with more in-depth knowledge (of the museum world). During that time, I
undertook a work placement at Fulham Palace. As part of my work placement
at Fulham Palace, I supported learning sessions, project-managed the
development of new educational trails and designed family and school
activities. Because of the small team, I also assisted with the communication
enquiries of the Learning Department by improving the online presence. I did
this whilst simultaneously gaining a deeper understanding of the different
means of communication that are and can be utilized for the arts and culture
sector. Part of my professional passion and graduate research has been/is
museum access. Accordingly, I suggested the development and
implementation of an Accessibility Awareness Workshop for the employees
and volunteers of the Palace. The delivery of this workshop showed Apart
from the fact that the participants gained a deeper understanding of
accessibility and the Palace expanded its collaborative network, working
closely with staff from various departments resulted in elevated collaboration
and intercommunication of/between/for my colleagues.
Hence I strongly believe that by targeting my energy and efforts to multiple
causes I support, makes me more prepared for the demands of the museum
workforce. this graduate programme.
International work, small teams big teams.
The reason I am interested in participating in this internship at The Museum of
Modern Art is not only because the museum is one of the elite ones globally,
but also offers a unique way of resisting to the conventional wisdom and
forming original personalities.
I am certain that this internationally-oriented internship programme
approaches art and cultural heritage from different perspectives and seeks
emerging museum professionals who have inspiring goals; combines
originality, alternative approaches, different culture background and
effectiveness. As a young professional who believes in the value of museums
and art in contemporary society, this internship is exactly tailored to my
interests and my goals. Personally, I consider myself as a hard-working,
responsible, communicative person with a strong passion to pursue a career in
this field. I enjoy challenges and never give up. I intend to develop all my skills
to greater extent throughout my time to your university.

History and culture has always been appealing to me. Thus I pursued such an undergraduate degree.
Since beginning my studies I observed that the interest of people to attend exhibitions and interact
with the culture of a country has lessened. The extra-curricular seminar “Introduction to Museology”
held by Borgias College of Fine Arts that I attended in 2014 gave me a first taste of the curator’s
world and enlightened me regarding audience engagement.

Choosing this graduate programme will provide me with more in depth knowledge of my desired
field.

The most attractive part of this programme is that combines theory and practice, media and up to
date technology (exquisitely). Following the lecturers’ latest work, for example …, an innovative and
intriguing approach to their taught subjects is notable.

As a multifaceted personality my will to socially involve and evolve continued to grow during my
undergraduate years.

I decided to volunteer as Museum Educator Assistant at the Foundation of the Hellenic World. My
current profession is broadening my experience with visual media, educational tours and
programmes focused on children, mandatory steps to succeed my future goal.

Hence I strongly believe that by targeting my energy and efforts to multiple causes I support, makes
me more prepared for the demands of this graduate programme.

The reason I chose UCL is not only because it is one of the elite universities globally, but also for its

My future goal is to develop an online application that will give the opportunity to people with
disabilities to engage further with different cultures.
During my MA in Museums and Galleries in Education, at the University College London, I
undertook a graduate work placement at Fulham Palace. As part of my placement, I supported
learning sessions, project-managed the development of a new educational trail and designed a
family activity. In my position I dealt with purchase orders and invoices, organising bookings and
liaising with access to the Palace. Because of the small team, I also assisted with the
communication enquiries of the Learning Department by improving the online presence. I did this

Experience Manager after I delivered this workshop showed that the participants gained a
deeper understanding of accessibility and the Palace expanded its collaborative network. In fact,
it is now becoming a dementia friendly space.
