A. familiarize the materials, tools, and procedures in cutting a flexible metallic

tubing.
B. answer the summative test for the first quarter.
C. value the importance of cutting correctly the flexible metallic tubing.

Directions: Unarranged items are listed below, write the number that
corresponds to procedure number or step number of cutting the flexible metallic
tubing. Number 1 and 7 are provided. Use or write 2 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd, 4 for 4th and
5 for 5th for the remaining items in letters A to E. Write the numbers only.

1. Prepare the necessary tools, materials, equipment and PPE in

performing the activity.

RECAP

Electrician should follow trade sizes for the conduit number with proper wire
sizes, for a particular boxes size. They do these to avoid problems later on in the
wiring process, prevents under sizing compared to load it may use in the future use.

Furthermore, fastening the conduit properly stabilizes the wiring and

standard electrical boxes should be used in order to ensure a safe installation.

PROCEDURE IN CUTTING THE FLEXIBLE METALLIC TUBING (FMT)

1. Prepare the necessary tools, materials, equipment and PPE in performing

the activity.
2. Wear the appropriate PPE.
3. Measure and mark the location of the cut.
4. Cut the flexible metallic conduit only on the single armor.
5. Twist off the armor then pull one end of the flexible conduit.
6. Remove the sharp end of the newly cut conduit using the file or reamer.
7. Let your teacher check your work.
