Group Assignment
Title: Group Assignment - Auditor and Auditee Role-Play (ISO 45001)

Objective:
To encourage theory and practical application of ISO 45001 through communication: Occupational
Health and Safety Management System (OSHMS), students will participate in a group role-play
exercise. The assignment aims to simulate a real-world audit scenario, promoting teamwork,
effective communication, and understanding of ISO 45001.

Instructions to Students:
1. Each group must consist of Auditors and Auditees (Should have a maximum of two
Auditors and the others are Auditees)

2. Roles Assignment:
Auditors: Responsible for planning and conducting the audit.
Auditees: Represent an organization being audited, responsible for preparing and
presenting OSHMS-related documented information.
3. Preparation:
a. Selection of Documented Information: Auditee groups will select or create
documented information related to their illustrated organization's based on ISO
45001.
b. Documented information may include OSH policy, risk assessments, procedures,
records, and many more which are related.
c. Auditors should familiarize themselves with the ISO 45001 standard and audit
process.
d. Auditees should thoroughly understand the selected documented information and
be ready to defend its compliance.
4. Role-Play Scenario:
a. Audit Planning: Auditors will plan the audit, including determining the scope,
objectives, and audit criteria. Auditees will prepare for the upcoming audit by
ensuring all relevant documented information is readily available.
b. Opening Meeting: Auditors will conduct an opening meeting, explaining the
purpose, scope, and objectives of the audit. Auditees will provide an overview of
their organization's OSHMS and the selected documented information.
c. On-Site Audit: Auditors will review the documented information, conduct
interviews, and assess the effectiveness of the OSHMS. Auditees will cooperate
with auditors, providing access to necessary information and demonstrating their
commitment to OSH.
d. Closing Meeting: Auditors will conduct a closing meeting to communicate
findings, areas of compliance, and potential non-conformities. Auditees will
respond to findings, provide clarifications, and discuss any corrective actions
planned.

5. Both Auditors and Auditees within each group will participate in a group discussion
reflecting on the role-play experience. Discuss challenges faced, lessons learned, and
insights gained during the audit simulation. Highlight the group's collaboration, effective
communication, and understanding of ISO 45001.

6. Assessment Criteria: Demonstration of group collaboration and effective communication.


Application of ISO 45001 principles during the role-play. Quality of the closing meeting,
including communication of findings and responses. Insightful group reflections on the
role-play experience.
Note:
Encourage creativity in selecting or creating documented information.
Emphasize the importance of teamwork in conducting a successful OSHMS audit.
Highlight the practical relevance of ISO 45001 in ensuring occupational health and safety within
organizations.
