- OPTION 1: What is the future of politics in this country? Where is it evolving in 10,
20, or 30 years? Authoritarianism, democracy, or a hybrid regime? Are human rights,
representation, accountability, etc getting better, or getting worse? Use at least 2
countries from our course for extensive comparison in your analysis.

- OPTION 2: What should the opposition do to push for a successful democracy?
Make a specific plan for democracy activists to follow. Use at least 2 countries from our
course for extensive comparison in your argument.

2. Word count: 2,000-3,000 words.

- minimum 7 academic sources (books or published papers)
- journalism is accepted in addition to these 7 sources

• not follow instructions
