What has changed since the last consultation?


In February 2011, CLS consulted on some initial ideas for Vauxhall Square A summary of the main feedback:

Following ongoing consultation with local residents, community groups, Lambeth Council, The Greater London Authority and English Heritage, the design has changed as follows:
levated skywalk has been replaced with wide ground level pedestrian crossings E xisting terrace of houses (including the Grade 2 listed buildings) on E

Wandsworth Road are now to be retained and integrated into the scheme
endle Court on Wandsworth Road is now to form a part of the scheme W

for affordable housing and the replacement of the hostel


esign along Miles Street has developed to include a second student housing D

building and a new community play space/square


esign of hotel along Bondway has been increased in size to form a strong edge D

to the new public square and frontages to Bondway


ew office building has been developed to respond better to the street layout N

What is being proposed now?
The site today:
Out-dated office buildings and data storage premises, isolated from, and contributing little to the surrounding Vauxhall area
Cap Gemini building one of the buildings on the Vauxhall Square site

CLS is undertaking a further round of consultation in November and looks forward to hearing feedback from local people and businesses. We invite everyone with an interest in the development proposals to come and talk to us. When all feedback has been reviewed, CLS will be looking to develop a planning application for submission at the end of 2011.
