STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Planning Board and Site Review: Erin noted that another hotel was planned
(third) and there were wetland issues with the site. Erin also stated that a third
“steep slopes” site was discussed. She stressed the need for a Steep Slopes
Ordinance. Erin discussed the need for follow up on commitments made by
developers. The EEC agreed there is a need to track these commitments. Erin will
identify such sites to the ECC and then the EEC will request it be included on the
CO approval checklist to ensure commitments are included.

Erin stated that Lowes was interested in the Navy property.

Natural Resources Inventory/Conservation Element (NRI/CE): Lee

distributed copies of the final CE. Lee will contact Tom Kull, Ewing Web Master
to update CE on the Ewing Web Page.

Tree Ordinance: Briefly discussed. The EEC still needs to determine its
status with the new administration.

Web Site: It was noted that the new Web Master has been very responsive to
requests from the EEC.

Grants: Hal completed and submitted an ANJEC grant application for hike
and bike pathways in the township. Pete and Scott attended a meeting of the
Ewing Recreation Committee on 4/16/07 in support of the grant. Pete presented
an overview to the Recreation Commission and gained a vote of support for the
project. Aimee Williams from the D&R Greenway Trust also attended and
provided an enthusiastic boost to linking the JCC, GM redevelopment site and W
Trenton RR Station via a bike/pedestrian trail along the current abandoned rail
spur running behind these properties and crossing Gold Run Creek at the
unconnected portion of Sylvia St.

Hal distributed a grants tracking table he developed. He noted that he may

investigate the Bikes Belong Coalition grant. The EEC will email new items to
Hal as discovered.

OLD BUSINESS:

Open Space: The EEC briefly discussed the status of the requested appraisals of
the two flood-prone lots on Route 29. Karl to follow up with Dick Owen.

Sustainability:
Jewish Community Center building tour – Erin will attempt to schedule a
tour in the near future.

The EEC tasked Mike to begin to assemble a list of “Green” technologies

that can be utilized by developers in the Township.

Lee determined that a Township showing of the movie “An Inconvenient

Truth” at the Janssen Pharmaceutica Facility was not possible. Janssen
would be interested in conducting a tour of their facility for Township
Officials. The EEC agreed it would be good to have representatives from
Council, Planning Board and Redevelopment Authority participate. Le
will follow up.

Annual Report: Not discussed

Mercer County Earth Day The celebration is April 4, 2007 at the Ice Rink in
Mercer County Park. EEC will not participate.

Arbor Day: The EEC arranged for a planting on April 28, 2007 at 11:00 AM at

CORRESPONDENCE: Nancy Howarth notified us of four cleanup events: Mercer

county Disposal Days on May 12 and October 20 2007 for electronics only at the
Sovereign Arena; Household Hazardous Wastes on June 23 and September 29, 2007 at
the Fire Training Center. She also said that they did receive the Clean Communities
Grant again, but she needs to first put her budget together, and will get back to us as to
when the Clean Up days are going to be. These are the events where we can earn grant
money of up to $250 for participating as the EEC.

NEW BUSINESS:

Karl will schedule a meeting with the Mayor prior to our next meeting.
