I Important safety information

All of the necessary work must be performed by qualified persons with an appropriate
level of expertise.

Vehicle lifts with an insufficient lifting capacity can collapse under the weight
of the vehicle and crush any persons standing underneath.

Compare the weight of the vehicle with the lifting capacity of your vehicle lift.
The weight of the vehicle must not exceed the lifting capacity of your vehicle
lift. The weight of the vehicle can be found in the vehicle operating manual.

Risk of injury from electric current.

Switch off the ignition and disconnect the battery when working on the vehicle
electrical/electronics systems.

Risk of fire and explosion from ignition of windshield cleaning

agents/antifreeze and their vapors.

Risk of poisoning from ingesting windshield cleaning agents/antifreeze and

breathing in their vapors.

Risk of injury due to irritation caused by windshield cleaning agents/antifreeze

coming into contact with eyes, skin and other parts of the body.

Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Avoid naked flames, fire and
sources of ignition. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and other parts of the body.
Do not eat, drink or smoke when handling windshield cleaning
agents/antifreeze. Do not breathe in vapors and ensure adequate ventilation.
Keep windshield cleaning agents/antifreeze only store them in sealable
original containers.

Risk of injury from hands and arms being crushed, cut or lacerated when
working with sharp-edged and bulky objects.

Wear protective clothing and protective gloves. Keep limbs out of narrow and
inaccessible areas of the vehicle and/or avoid dangerous situations by using
special tools and suitable aids.

Risk of injury to back, muscles, joints, tendons and ligaments from lifting and
carrying heavy and/or bulky objects.

Lift and transport heavy and/or bulky objects with the help of other people
and/or with suitable aids.

Before starting the assembly procedure, carefully read the assembly instructions in full
and pay attention to the safety information and sequence of the individual operation steps.

All body parts must be prepared and painted in accordance with the attached painting
guide.

III Installation
1 Prepare the vehicle

Before starting work, check that the vehicle is free from defects. Use the PIWIS
i
system tester to read out all the fault memories of the individual vehicle
components and first rectify any faults displayed.

1.1 Switch off level control

1 Set the vehicle to normal level.

2 Switch on the ignition.

3 Press the rocker switch forwards for 5 - 10 seconds.

The following message is displayed on the multifunction display of the

i
instrument panel: "Control switched off".

2 Detach original front panel/TECHART Magnum front spoiler

i Also refer to Porsche Cayenne operating manual.

1 Open engine hood.

2 Remove main headlamps.

3 Remove upper mounting bolts.

4 Using a screwdriver, lever out the plugs upwards and remove (see arrows).

5 Remove mounting bolts (8 bolts) from splash guard underneath vehicle (see
arrows).

6 Remove mounting bolts (4 bolts) from front skirt from below (see arrows).

7 Remove trim on inside of wheel well.

8 Remove mounting bolts (1) (2

bolts on each side) from wheel
well.

9 Disconnect electrical connector (4)

and water hose (2) in right wheel
well.

Water may run out when the water

i
hose is disconnected. Collect the
water in a suitable receptacle.

10 Detach lamp sockets (3) for left

and right side turn signal lamps.

11 Unclip original front panel (5) from

headlamp cutout and remove to
the front (see arrow).

3 Assemble the TECHART daytime running light

Recommendation:
i
Replace the yellow turn signal bulb with a bicolor bulb.
Replace the blue parking light bulb with a clear bulb.

3.1 Assemble the TECHART daytime running light

1 Unhook wiring harness and water hose of headlamp cleaning system from grille.

2 Unscrew the 3 grilles. On the Cayenne V6 / S, also detach the two outer grille air
ducts.

3 Mark the grille (6) and cut it (see picture):

 Cut 1 (S1) is made above the 3 raised parts in the extension, up to 25 mm in

the 3rd raised part (a) and from there back to the inside.
 Cut 2 (S2) is made on the inside of the uppermost indentation to the end.
 Cut 3 (S3) is made flush with the inside of the indentation.

The bonding surfaces on the TECHART trim panels and the original grilles must
i
be dry and free from dust or paint spray mist!
Use cleaning agent to thoroughly degrease bonding surfaces on the TECHART
trim panels and original grilles.
Do not touch the surfaces after they have been cleaned.

4 Insert the TECHART trim panel into the grille.

5 Bond it to a few points from the back using PU adhesive.

6 On the Cayenne V6 / S, the original

left and right air ducts (7) must be
modified.

7 Mark the dimensions on the original

air ducts (7) and then cut them out.

 Dimension 1 = 55 mm (M1) from rear edge to end of 1st cutout

 Dimension 2 = 10 mm (M2) width of bar which is left in place
 Dimension 3 = 37 mm (M3) Width of the 2nd cutout
 Dimension 4 = 10 mm (M4) from upper edge of air duct to upper edge of
cutout.
 Dimension 5 = 35 mm (M5) the height of the cutout

3.2 Install the TECHART control unit

1 Align the TECHART control unit

000.180.185.009-01 (8) on the
front of the grille (6), directly below
the lower through-hole for
engaging the center grille.

2 Mark on 2 mounting bores, pre-

drill to d = 3 mm and then drill to d
= 5.5 mm.

3 Fit the sheet metal nuts 4.8 x 19.0

onto the TECHART control unit
(8).

4 Screw the TECHART control unit

(8) with screws 4.8x13 (9) to the
grille (6).

5 Insert the grilles (6) into the

original front trim, align and
tighten.

3.3 Install the TECHART wiring harness

Switch off the ignition and disconnect the battery when working on the vehicle
i
electrical/electronics systems.
After crimping, heat up all crimp connectors using a hot air gun so that they
form a watertight seal.

1 Modify headlamp cable on vehicle with TECHART wiring harness

087.180.100.501 incl. TECHART fuse holder.

On the headlamp combination connector in the right fender:

 Cut off the cable from pin 7 (black/blue) 20 mm behind the connector.
 Strip both ends.
 Strip both ends of the TECHART fuse holder.
 Connect one end of the TECHART fuse holder to the cable from pin 7
(black/blue) with a water-tight crimp connector using suitable crimping pliers (all
3 together).
 Connect the other end of the TECHART fuse holder to the red cable from the
TECHART wiring harness with a water-tight crimp connector using suitable
crimping pliers.
 Route the cable behind the headlamp mounting console into the wheel well.
Position the fuse holder so that it is accessible from the engine compartment.
 Disconnect the 1-way connector on the TECHART wiring harness.

2 Route the TECHART wiring harness 087.180.100.501 parallel to the original

wiring harness from right to left. The red cable with the 1-way connector is routed
to the right-hand side.

3 Connect the right TECHART daytime running light with the TECHART control unit
(plug 2fold white/gray).

4 Lay the left TECHART daytime running light with the connection cable
DRL/control unit 000.180.227.8 parallel to the original wiring harness from right to
the left and connect it with the TECHART control unit (plug 2fold white/black).

5 Detach the interlocking from the plug (blue/red) of the TECHART control unit and
connect both plugs of the TECHART control unit with the TECHART wiring
harness.

On the left
6 Expose the cables on the original wiring harness approx. 50 mm after the plug for
the front turn signal lamp and the plug for the parking light.

7 Connect the black/blue cable of the TECHART wiring harness with the blue crimp
connector to the black/white cable (turn signal cable, positive) of the original
wiring harness (all three together).

8 Separate the blue/black cable (parking light cable, positive) approx. 20 mm

behind the parking light connector.

9 Connect the gray cable of the TECHART wiring harness to the blue/black cable of
the original wiring harness with the red crimp connector. The parking light cable
will stay unconnected.

10 Route cables cleanly and secure with cable ties.

On the right
11 Expose the cables on the original wiring harness approx. 50 mm after the front
turn signal lamp and parking light connector.

12 With the blue crimp connector, connect the blue cable of the TECHART dimming
control unit to the black/green cable (turn signal cable, positive) of the original
wiring harness (all three together).

13 Cut through the gray/red cable (parking light cable, positive) approx. 20 mm
behind the parking light connector.

14 With the red crimp connector, connect the gray cable of the TECHART wiring
harness to the gray/red cable of the original wiring harness. The parking light
cable will stay unconnected.

15 With the red crimp connector, connect the black cable of the TECHART wiring
harness to the brown cable (parking light cable, negative) of the original wiring
harness (all three together).

16 Route the red cable with the 1-way connector from the TECHART wiring harness
to the two connectors of the original wiring harness.

17 Route cables cleanly and secure with cable ties.

3.4 Installing original front panel

1 Slide the entire skirt into the original guides on the vehicle and screw to the
original attachment points.

2 In the right wheel arch, connect the electrical connector and water hose for the
headlamp cleaning system.

3 Connect the TECHART wiring harness in the left and right wheel arches.

4 Bolt wheel well liners back on.

5 Connect the high beam lamps.

i Pay attention to the gap dimensions when aligning the original front panel.

4 Perform final work on vehicle

4.1 Finishing touches

Switch on level control

1 Switch on the ignition.

2 Press the rocker switch forwards for 5 - 10 seconds.

The following message is displayed on the multifunction display of the

i
instrument panel: "Control switched on".

4.2 Final check 1.

1 Perform a general function check on vehicle.

Read out all of the fault memories of the individual vehicle components using
i
the PIWIS Porsche system tester, erase any fault messages displayed and/or
rectify faults.
