Simple Pendulum Motion Analysis

(1) A simple pendulum consists of a mass or bob suspended by a string or wire that oscillates back and forth in a periodic motion. The time for one cycle is the period. (2) The period depends on the length of the pendulum but not the mass. Experiments found the period was almost 1.46 seconds, close to the theoretical period of 1.4 seconds calculated using the length of 49.5 cm. (3) Changing the mass or length did not affect the period, showing the period only depends on the pendulum's length.
