MAYORAL DECREE FOR THE CONTEST TO DESIGN AND AUTOMATE THE

“HOUSE OF HORRORS” IN THE THEME PARK LOCATED IN QUINTANAR DEL MEMBRILLO

Quintanar del Membrillo Town Hall wishes to respond to the request made by local youths to
reopen the Theme Park in view of the lack of alternative leisure and free time activities.
However, given that the vast majority of the local population works exclusively in the
production of artisanal food and cosmetic products made using quince, we have been unable
to find suitable contractors for the House of Horrors.

For this reason, and invoking the responsibilities placed upon us by article 21.1 of the Local
Government Regulation Act dated April 2nd 1985, we have decided to open a public contest for
the design and automation of the House of Horrors space in the Quintanar del Membrillo
Theme Park, in accordance with the following conditions:

FIRST.- The project must comply with all technical requirements set out in the
Technical Specifications (Appendix 1) and must be adapted to the architectural
features and peculiarities of the available space (Appendix II).

SECOND.- The closing date shall be 30 calendar days from the date of publication of
this Decree on the official website of Quintanar del Membrillo.

THIRD.- Entrants must submit a video and a model or prototype, along with the
corresponding technical documentation, duly completed and in digital format.

FOURTH.- The developer company shall receive financial payment to cover all
expenses, including an additional 40%.

FIFTH.- After the closing date, a public panel comprising local residents shall have 10
calendar days to consider the proposals and select a winner. The name of the winning
company will be published on the official website of Quintanar del Membrillo.

APPENDIX I
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION FOR THE CONTEST TO DESIGN AND AUTOMATE THE “HOUSE
OF HORRORS” IN THE THEME PARK LOCATED IN QUINTANAR DEL MEMBRILLO

1. PURPOSE
The purpose of this specification document is to set out the minimum technical requirements
for the model or prototype of the “House of Horrors” located in the Quintanar del Membrillo
Theme Park.

2. ACTION AREA
Appendix II contains a plan of the area and the available space for the development, which
comprises 275 m2 within the local Theme Park.

3. DESCRIPTION
The project shall involve the design and automation of the “House of Horrors”, including
features for scaring the people using it. The space must operate correctly and be fun and
stimulating.

The developer must design a route through the space which is divided into several themed
areas related to films, stories or scary legends. To do this, they should use robotics
components which alter the lighting, the sound and the movement of the various features.

The project must include appropriate staging and characters, and the various features must be
automated.

4. MINIMUM PROJECT REQUIREMENTS

The prototype or model must have the following:

1. Maximum dimensions 40x40 cm.

2. Walkway dimensions of 12 cm minimum and 16 cm maximum.
3. A central control room or machine room.
4. At least three different automated spaces.
5. Decorative elements to suit the theme (staging and characters).
6. Clearly marked entrance and exit points.
7. Clearly marked emergency exits.

5. DOCUMENTATION
The following documentation must be submitted:

• A video of the model or prototype in operation.

• A completed project data sheet.
• The program for automating the House of Horrors.

All of these files should be submitted in one digital zip file.
