Printed at 100% this pattern is 34.75 inches from top to bottom. If you print the pattern at a
larger/ smaller scale, you may need to add/ subtract foam to create a proper fit for your
physique. This is further explained in the steps below. Please read the Adobe Reader Tutorial
to learn how to appropriately print and/ or resize this pattern.

Before I begin a new project, I gather each

of the materials I will need to successfully
complete the project! For this hollow digi
leg tutorial you will need to obtain the
following list of materials:

● Printed digi calf pattern and digi

thigh pattern
● Two or three yards of 1 inch
upholstery foam
● Scissors
● Sharpie marker
● Masking tape or scotch tape
● Hot glue and hot glue sticks

Before printing the patterns, you may need

to resize them in Adobe Reader. Upon
purchasing this tutorial, you received a file
that demonstrates how to resize a pdf
pattern for free!

After you print the patterns, you will, first,

need to tape the individual pieces together
to create the whole pattern pieces. You
should have nine patterns in total:

Digi Calf Pattern

● I
● J
● H
Digi Thigh Pattern
● A
● B
● C
● D
● E
● F

I recommend starting with the digi calf

patterns first.

Trace pattern pieces I, J, and H twice,

flipping each pattern once, so you can
create a right calf and a left calf.

Make sure you label each piece! All the

pieces you trace with the patterns face up
make the left leg: IL, JL, and HL. All the
pieces you trace with the patterns face
down make the right leg: IR, JR, and HR.

Cut out the pieces.

Work with one calf at a time. In this

example, I started with the left calf pieces.

First, glue the darts on each piece. Then,

glue your pieces together in this order: IL,
JL, HL. Use the registration marks as a
guide.

You should have one giant piece that looks

similar to the one in the image below.

Finally, glue the HL and IL pieces together

as shown to the left.

Repeat the previous two steps to create the

right calf. Because you flipped the pattern
pieces to create the right leg, the pieces
will be glued together in reverse
alphabetical order.

You should have two completed digi

calves!!

Now, set your finished calves to the side, so

you can begin to work with the thigh
patterns.

Trace pattern pieces A, B, C, D, E, and F

twice, flipping each pattern once, so you
can create a right thigh and a left thigh.

Make sure you label each piece! All the

pieces you trace with the patterns face up
make the left leg: AL, BL, CL, DL, EL, and
FL. All the pieces you trace with the
patterns face down make the right leg: AR,
BR, CR, DR, ER, and FR.

Cut out the pieces.

Work with one thigh at a time. In this

example, I started with the left thigh
pieces.

First, glue the darts on each piece. Then,

glue your pieces together in this order: AL,
BL, CL, DL, EL, FL. Use the registration
marks as a guide.

You should have one giant piece that looks

Finally, glue the FL and AL pieces together

as shown to the left.

Repeat the previous two steps to create the

right thigh. Because you flipped the pattern
pieces to create the right leg, the pieces
will be glued together in reverse
alphabetical order.

You should have two completed digi

thighs!!

Now, you can glue the calf and thigh pieces

together. Again, Take your left thigh and
your right calf and glue them together at
the registration marks.

Keep in mind that there should be a

rectangular gap left in the back where the
back of your knee should be located. This
helps with both mobility and comfort.

Repeat this step for the right leg!!

have a finished set of hollow foam digi
legs!!

Resizing Options
Thighs:
Add/ subtract foam on the inside of the
thighs, vertical to the crotch. This will help
you maintain the shape of the knees

Calves:
Add/ subtract foam on the front, center seam
of the calves, directly below the knees.
