My Food Story

First of all we have one of my favorites food, in Germany we call it

Keasespeatzle, Kaese is cheese and speatzle are a kind of
noodles that are made from egg. They are really tiny and thick.
They are prepared by first boiling the speatzle and then baking
them in the oven with lots of cheese. You eat them with fried or
roasted onions. I love this food because it tastes great, especially
because of the mountain cheese with which these are made,
which has a very intense taste. Also you can find Kaesespeatzle
in every Bavarian restaurant.

Then we have a food that I also love and that is bread dumplings.
In Germany we call it Semmelknoedel, which are dumplings made
out of bread, mostly you use older bread or breadcrumbs. You
can eat these things with many different side dishes but I think
they taste best with a mushroom cream sauce. In Germany bread
dumplings and other kinds of dumplings are also mostly eaten
with meat, for example roast pork, which is also one of the
famous Bavarian dishes.

Next we have my favorite soup I think and this is potato Soup, I

particularly like this soup when it gets colder. I think potato soup
tastes great thanks to the mixture of potatoes and onions with
which it is mostly prepared. But you can also made this soup with
any other vegetable and potato

Than we have a dish that we eat in my family just on one day and
that's the christmas evening in germany we call it Koenigenpastet
i think in english you say puff pastry with ragout but when you
translate the german word than its something like queen pie.
Normally you eat this kind of puff pastry with ragout that's here
meat and mushrooms, but I am a vegetarian so I eat the pastry
just with mushrooms which taste great. I love this dish because it
is always something very special. Before we eat this there are
some appetizers.

I don't like the most of normal salads, but one of the salads that I
eat and prefer is Greek Salad, that food is great when it get hotter
in the summer, you made this with tomatoes, papers, cucumber,
onions and feta and just olive oil, I think that's the reason why I
don't like other salads because I hate vinegar.

Jet, we have potato pancakes in Germany. We call them

Kartoffelpuffer or Reiberdatschi, that are just grated potatoes,
onions and eggs that you fried in the pan. I love this thing
because first they taste really good and then you can eat them
savory or sweet. You eat them sweet with applesauce, cinnamon
and sugar. Savory you can eat potato pancakes for example with
smoked salmon and sourcream. And I prefer both.

My favorite sweet dish is steamed yeast dumplings. We call them

in Germany Dampf- or Rohrnudeln which mean something like
oven noodles. At home my dad makes them sometimes, it is a
sweet yeast dough that you bake normally in steam but you can
make them nicely in the oven with a little bit of butter and
cinnamon. We eat them with a vanilla sauce and I love they
because they are sweet but not too sweet and they taste really
nice.
Lastly, we have my favorite sweet baked goods and that are
Hazelnut sticky buns. I think they are like cinnamon buns without
the cinnamon and with Hazelnuts and Germany you can get
these things in every bakery and I think they taste really good
because of the roasted Hazelnuts and the frosting. Normally they
have a little bit different shape than in the picture and this form is
like cinnamon buns but bigger and thinner.
