Helios Case Competition – Round 2 Submission.

India's current agricultural supply chain is characterized by extensive

fragmentation and plagued by a myriad of challenges. These include limited farmer
access to resources, the overwhelming control exerted by licensed traders, subpar
storage infrastructure, exorbitant logistics costs, and a scarcity of sourcing
information, to name a few. These supply chains are notoriously lengthy, housing
numerous intermediaries that escalate costs without adding much value, leading to
inefficiencies and wastages. To spur innovation and transformation, we present the
"Revolutionizing the India's Agricultural Supply Chain" challenge. Participants are
tasked with defining the scope of the agricultural supply chain of their choice,
comprehensively studying its issues, and employing emerging technologies like AI,
blockchain, and IoT to propose imaginative solutions.
Deliverables:
Participants are required to submit a comprehensive solution that includes:
 Scope and expanse of the portion or category of agricultural supply chain they are
addressing.
 Participants are expected to thoroughly examine the major problems within the
agricultural supply chain of their choice and conduct a comprehensive stakeholder
analysis to understand the impacts of the identified problems on various involved
parties. Participants should also clearly articulate the specific subset of challenges
they aim to address with their proposed solutions.
 Innovative proposals for using AI, blockchain, IoT, or a combination of these
technologies to address the identified issues.
 A description of how the proposed solutions benefit all stakeholders, especially
farmers.
