Introduction
Our group has been given the topic to determine whether the prefect system has a
positive effect on other students. This topic is important to us because it would help
us to improve our prefect system and make it a better structure overall for the
betterment of our school and to the students who attend it.
Prefects are in our school to look after students when teachers are not present. The
prefect system in our school is split into 6 different sections which are: Forms 1,
Forms 2, Forms 3, Forms 4, Forms 5 and Late Line. The forms that are mentioned
above are looked after by the prefects that were assigned to them and the late line
prefects are the ones who will be in charge of putting the students who arrive late
on mornings in three orderly lines until assembly is over.
Currently there are two prefects in our S.B.A. group, so we have some insight into
the workings of the prefect system. Our group’s S.B.A will be carried out into
individual parts, we intend to carry out these parts by creating a survey. We then
intend to distribute this survey to the school population (excluding the prefects),
The data obtained will be analyzed and we will be able to deduce the general
opinion of students towards the prefect system and its effectiveness.
Method of data collection

The site used to create our survey was google forms and it was distributed using a
social media platform called WhatsApp with a total of 70 responses obtained from
the student body (excluding the prefects). We had to tally all the individual
responses that were recorded, we also assigned a score of 1 for the response
“strongly disagree” and a score of 5 for the response “strongly agree” then we
carefully added the readings together in order to get the overall average of all the
people who participated in our survey. The readings will show the total scores each
person achieved on our survey.
