Purpose:
To review the method of returning parts to Overhaul Centers and use of "Returned Part- Identifica-
tion" tags.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
In the past, parts returned to Overhaul Centers have usually been poorly identified and have lacked
adequate data for processing and analysis. To correct this problem Solar recommends using the
Returned Part Identification tag (RPI tag) when returning parts to an Overhaul Center. Completed
RPI tags allow Overhaul to expedite part disposition and process Warranty Claims.

ACTION REQUIRED:
When returning a failed part for exchange, analysis, or repair to an Overhaul Center, fill out the RPI
tag as shown in Figure 1, attach it to the failed part, and return part to the Overhaul Center in your
area. Customers can get additional RPI tags from their local Solar sales or service office.
