PACO MUNIDAD community center

Concept

The Philippines is an archipelago with over seven thousand and hundreds of islands. It is home of the
rich and vast culture of the indigenous people across the island that’s has been influenced by the
westerners for over 3 centuries. Because of the invaders, Philippines’ architecture became more varied
over the years and it continue to redevelop through modern architectural development introduced. In
this 21 st century where most of the building where modernized and improved, many renowned
architectural landmarks of culture and diversity have been demolished or destroyed by human’s
irresponsibility and greed. Philippines is also known for its culture and closed family ties which Filipinos
are well known for.

The Paco train station redevelopment is based on the Philippines’ culture and architecture. The best way
to revitalize is to get inspiration to its homeland. The old building interior is made of narra wood and
highlighted by murals that depicts Philippines diversity and culture. More open spaces are considered
based on the communal trait of Filipino and that is being family centered and festive people. The entire
site promotes the Philippines and its reach culture and the development of architecture in this country.

Community center

Community center are public locations where members of a community tend to gather for group
activities, social support, public information, and other purposes. They may sometimes be open for
the whole community or for a specialized group within the greater community.it aims to aid
community problems and provide workshops for less fortunate resident of Paco manila.it also target
to cater public activities like basketball, community meetings public access to library and park for
kids. This community center also provide jobs for housewives in handicraft making and basic
school learning to do those illiterate people because of poverty. Because of this community
center ,people will become more engage in public activities and prevent them from drug and
depression problem. Its core value is family closed ties which is a better step in a well organized
community .
