Module 3: Organizational Analysis Instructions:

After reviewing the keynote and studying the readings, you should now be ready to
proceed with your assignment. In this assignment, you will conduct a remote
organizational analysis based on what you have learned from the readings in this unit.
Choose an organization from the list of approved hospitals. See Week One module for the
selection link.
You will use the same organization that you select for the organizational analysis paper AND
the quality improvement paper.
All assignments are to be submitted electronically within the course. Because the faculty receive
many of the same assignments a file naming format is established for all student submissions.
The file naming standard is as follows:
File naming standard: Student’s Last name, First name, Class Number with section, and
Assignment Name.

For example, Doe-Jane-NU613.801-Organizational Analysis Paper

Please submit your paper as a pdf document.
Please pay particular attention to the due date of the assignment. Deductions apply to students
not submitting by the DUE DATE posted on the course schedule as described in the syllabus.
Assignment extensions require contact and approval from the primary faculty prior to the
due date. See the syllabus for guidance.
Your paper will automatically be submitted to Turnitin when you submit the assignment. You
can review and revise the paper and resubmit it based on any identified concerns in the Turnitin
report until the due date. Caution: Papers resubmitted after the due date will be treated as late
papers and the late penalty described in the syllabus will apply. Submit the assignment at least 48
to 72 hours before the due date to ensure time to obtain the Turnitin report back. Extensions will
NOT be granted if you wait to the last minute to submit an assignment or do not receive a report
back in time for revisions.
Early grading: Faculty may be available to grade the paper before the due date if you have
completed your review of the Turnitin report. If your submission is ready for grading prior to the
due date, please place a comment in the assignment area that the submission is final and ready
for grading. Any paper graded prior to the due date based on a student comment releasing the
paper to be graded, will not be regraded if changes are made and the paper is resubmitted by the
due date. The graded paper will be the final submission for the assignment.

Writing tips:
1. Pay attention to the page limits found in the scholarship section of the rubric
2. Outline your work to assure you place the right amount of content in each area based on the
number of points allocated in the rubric. Pace yourself, don't put too much content in the first
section of the paper and fail to address later sections.
3. Use headings to organize your work in the same order found on the rubric.
4. Avoid casual speech, do not use first person (there is a review of what first person is in the
Start Here module).
5. Submit your paper early so you receive the Turnitin report with enough time to make edits
and resubmit before the due date; allow more time for the second or third submission. You do
not need a Turnitin code, the paper will automatically be submitted to Turnitin.

Can't find the Community Health Needs assessment for a not-for-profit facility? Look at other information available
on the site and summarize what you can and note the report is not readily available. Interestingly, the report is
required every 3 years and should be available but you may find the facility you are reviewing is out of
compliance. https://www.irs.gov/charities-non-profits/community-health-needs-assessment-for-charitable-hospital-
