Mathematics Experiments (any 6)


1. To demonstrate a function which is one-one but not onto.
2. To explore the principal value of the function sin-1 x using a unit circle.
3. To verify that for a function f to be continuous at given point x0, y = | f (x0 + x) – f (x0) |
arbitrarily small provided x is sufficiently small.
4. To understand the concepts of local maxima and local minima and point of inflection.
5. To construct an open box of maximum value from a given rectangular sheet by cutting equal square
pieces from each corner.

(1 − 𝑥 2 ) dx as the limit of a sum and verify it by actual
integration.

Physics Experiments
Section – A (any 5)
1. To determine resistivity of two/three wire by plotting a graph for potential difference versus current.
2. To find resistance of a given wire / standard resistor using metre bridge.
3. To verify the laws of combination (series of resistance using a metre bridge).
4. To determine the resistance of a galvanometer by half deflection method and to find its figure of
merit.
5. To convert a given galvanometer (of known resistance and figure of merit) into an ammeter of a
desired range and to verify the same.
6. To assemble a house hold circuit, comprising three bulbs, three switches, a fuse of and a power
source.
7. To assemble the components of a given electrical circuit.
8. To study the variation in potential drop with length of a wire for a steady current.

Section – B (any 5)

1. To find the focal length of a convex lens by plotting a graph between u and v or between 𝑢 and 𝑣 .
2. To find the focal length of a convex mirror by using a convex lens.
3. To determine the angle of minimum deviation for a given prism by plotting a graph between the angle of
incidence and the angle of deviation.
4. To determine the refractive index of a glass slab using a travelling microscope.
5. To draw the I.V. characteristic curve of a p.n. junction diode in forward and reverse bias.
6. To observe refraction and lateral deviation of a beam of light incident obliquely on a glass slab.

Chemistry Experiments
1. To prepare (a) lyophilic sol; and (b) lyophobicsol.
2. To study the effect of concentration and temperature variation respectively on the rate of reaction
between sodium thiosulphate and hydrochloric acid.

1. Isolate DNA from available plant material such as spinach, green peaseeds, papaya, etc.

2. Prepare a temporary mount to observe pollen germination.


3. Flowers adapted to pollination by different agencies (wind, insects, andbirds).

4. Identification of stages of gamete development, i.e., T.S. of testis and T.S. of ovary
through permanent slides (from grasshopper/mice).

5. Meiosis in onion bud cell or grasshopper testis through permanent slides.


6. T.S. of blastula through permanent slides (Mammalian).
7. Prepared pedigree charts of any one of the genetic traits such as rolling oftongue, blood
groups, ear lobes, widow's peak and colourblindness.
