D.N.P. CAPSTONE
“Effectiveness of Active Learning Strategies in a Concept-Based Classroom”

Qualitative, descriptive project examining the effectiveness of a variety of active


learning strategies in a concept-based nursing course. A pre-test, post-test format was
used to examine student perceptions of the effectiveness of various course activities.
Findings showed that students felt that most class activities were effective if given
within an educational structure, and that their confidence in the effectiveness of the
activities were a direct reflection of the faculty member’s confidence in the activity.

M.S.N. THESIS
“Faculty preparation for and design of a hybrid nursing course.”

Qualitative, descriptive project examining the theoretical underpinnings of online


learning, essential faculty preparation and skills needed for online instruction and
processes involved in construction and design of a nursing course presented with a
partial online format.
