RESEARCH
DNP RESEARCH PROJECT
 540 Total Research Hours Completed
 The aim: Increase depression screening, identification, and management through implementing universal
depression screening by using the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 Modified for Adolescents (PHQ-9M)
 The method: Manual retrospective chart and coding reviews were completed for June and July 2021 and
June and July 2022 to compare and look at depression screening rates, correlation with depression
diagnosis, referral to mental health specialists, and follow-up care received.
