Let’s proceed to the basic skills in
taekwondo. Yes ma’am.
First, is the basic punch in taekwondo
wherein hand is balled into a first with the
thumb is on the outside. Understand class?
We have 3 basic punch in taekwondo. The
middle punch, low punch, and high punch.
Low punch – is also called Low Section
Punch; this is aimed at the opponent’s (students performing)
navel.
Everybody stand class. Kindly observe me
please and right after you perform it as well.
Middle punch – is also called Middles
Section Punch, this is aimed at the
opponent’s solar plexus. (students performing)
I’ll demonstrate, and you execute it after.

High punch – also called High Section
Punch, this is aimed at the opponent’s face (students performing)
(specially the height of the upper lip).
This is how you perform it.

Okay very good, let’s proceed on the basic
kick.
Side kick, performed by turning the body
sideways with the hip turned slightly over; (Students participating)
chamber the kicking leg diagonally across
the body, the extend the leg in a linear
fashion toward the target. Everybody up!
Do you follow class? Yes ma’am.
Next is, Front kick performed by first
raising the knee of the kicking leg so that (students performing)
the knee is aimed at the target. The ankle is
held straight in-line with the rest of leg.
Again, follow me class.
Lastly is back kick, is performed by kicking
backward, behind you, like a horse. The (students performing)
striking surface is the bottom of the foot,
ideally the heel. This is how to perform.

E. Generalization
To summarize, Taekwondo is characterized by kicking and punching movements. It is a
martial art that combines a variety of kicks, strikes, and blocks into a dynamic system of
sport and self-defense.
The basic punches of taekwondo are, low punch, middle punch, and high punch. While the
basic kicks are, front kick, back kick, and side kick.

IV. EVALUATION
