1. MOVIE REVIEW OF RACING EXTINCTION

The documentary film "Racing Extinction" is a thought-provoking

documentary that delves into the alarming issue of species extinction caused
by human activities. This wonderful film was directed by Louie Psihoyos and
produced by Oceanic Preservation Society.

The film is a wake-up call that shows the grave risks faced by many
species as a result of human actions through visually spectacular
cinematography and narration. It invites us to reconsider our choices and
become part of the solution by uncovering hidden truths and drawing attention
to crucial topics such as animal trafficking, climate change, and many more
that is currently happening. It serves as a timely reminder that we have the
ability to have a substantial beneficial impact on the conservation of our
planet's biodiversity.

I like how it is visually appealing and showed us the beauty of the planet Earth
by its outstanding film shots. On the other hand, it dwells on the dark realities
of human actions, its impact on the marine life, climate change, and everything
about the world. I hope this film reaches everyone deep down their hearts.

2. What are the programs/project of your community pertaining to

environmental protection and disaster preparedness? Discuss each
program/projects of your community pertaining to the said topic.

 In terms of environmental protection, the Pateros Community practices a

good waste segregation. They will announce what type of trash they will
collect each houses’ garbage every afternoon only. People that will be
caught putting their trash ahead of schedule will pay a certain amount
for not following.

 From time to time especially the COVID-19 Pandemic era, the fire
volunteers wash the roads using their fire hose in their trucks every
midnight to maintain the cleanliness of the community.

 In terms of disaster preparedness, I can say that the Pateros Community

is fairly prepared. When bad typhoon hits, the government officials are
quick to donate relief goods to their subjects. The evacuation centers
here are also prioritized by the administration. In addition to that,
firefighters and fire volunteers are quick to respond here in Pateros when
there is a fire breakout happening. They are also quick to respond even
the fire is outside our community which amazes me the most.
