RTI complaint?

RTI (Right to Information Act)
The Right to Information Act is a law
passed by the Parliament of India
which came into force on October
12, 2005 (120th day of its enactment
on June 15, 2005). It is said to be a
very effective step to prevent and
eliminate corruption in India. By this
rule, all citizens of India have been
empowered to view and receive
information recorded in government
records and forms. In Jammu and
Kashmir, it is applicable under the
Right to Information Act 2012.

The Government of India has always


emphasized to make the lives of its
citizens comfortable, smooth, and
thus keeping this in mind, the RTI
Act has been established to make
India fully democratic.

Every citizen pays the tax, so he gets


the rights and also has the right to
know how the amount given by him
is being used as tax.
The Right to Information Act gives
every citizen the right to ask
questions to the government and it
can demand comments, summaries,
or certified copies of documents or
records or certified samples of
material.
The RTI Act is in force throughout
India (other than the state of Jammu
and Kashmir) which includes all
bodies under the notification of the
government including non-
governmental organizations that are
owned, controlled, or partially funded
by the government.
The RTI Act provides for the right of
access to information held by a
public authority. If you are denied
any kind of information, you can
lodge an appeal/complaint with the
Central Information Commission
(CIC) using the following options.

The RTI Act empowers all citizens to
have access to information available
with public authority. If you are
denied any information, then you can
submit your appeal/complaint to the
Central Information Commission.
When to submit a complaint (RTI)
Under provision 18 (1) of this Act, it
is the duty of the Central Information
Commission or State Information
Commission, as the case may be, to
receive a complaint from a person
and make an inquiry.
Those who are not successful in
submitting their request to the
Central Information Public Officer or
State Information Public Officer, as
the case may be, the reason may be
that the said officer or Central
Assistant Public Information Officer
or State Assistant Public Information
Officer, Accepting his application for
any information or appeal for
forwarding under this Act, as the
case may be, not appointed under
the Act Refuses to forward it to the
Central Public Information Officer or
State Public Information Officer or
the State Public Information Officer
referred to in sub-section (1) of
section 19 or forwarded to the
Central Information Commission or
State Information Commission, as
the case may be. Be the case.

Who has been denied access to any


information under this Act?
A person who has not responded to a
request for information or a request
for access to the information within
the time limit specified under this
Act.
Where do I submit my application? (RTI)
You can do this with the PIO or APIO.
In the cases of central government
departments, 629 post offices have
been made APIs. That is, you can go
to anyone of these post offices and
submit your application and fees on
the RTI counter. They will issue you
a receipt and thank you and it is the
responsibility of the post office to
send it to the appropriate PIO.
Is there a fee for this? How do I submit it?(RTI)
Yes, there is an application fee. For
central government departments, it
is Rs 10. is. Although different states
have set different fees. To get
information, you have to pay Rs. A
copy of the information page has to
be given for the central government
departments. It is different for
different states. Similarly, there is a
provision for fees for inspection of
documents. There is no fee for the
first hour of inspection but after that
Rs 5 for every hour or part thereof.
There will be an hourly fee. This is
according to central law. For each
state, see the respective state rules.
You can deposit the fee in cash, DD,
or banker’s check or postal order
payable in favor of that public
authority. In some states, you can
buy court fee tickets and paste it on
your application. On doing this, your
fee will be considered as a deposit.
You can then submit your application
by yourself or by post.
