honourable chief guest respected principal and fellow students AOA

I’m Yamna Jameel from X1 Gm1…. today my topic is the role played
by the youth in crisis.

the youth is the time of our lives that not only offers opportunities for
growth but also helps in getting a better understanding of ourselves. This
understanding of oneself is an unending process. It marks its beginning in
our youth and continues to be a major part of our lives in the future.

Now, Let me explain what a crisis is. A crisis is an unstable or crucial

time or state of affairs in which a decisive change is impending,
significantly, one with the distinct possibility of a highly undesirable
outcome.

Coming on to the role of youth in any crisis.

The youth can play a range of roles in crisis management. The youth
is the most capable of taking immediate action during emergencies
because they has the energy to do it and is incredibly resilient too. They’re
able to cope up and adapt to changes. This allows them to overcome
difficulties in their lives, including calamities and disasters, and adapt to a
diverse range of people.

As the Quaid e Azam said

“with faith, discipline, and selfless devotion to duty, there’s nothing

worthwhile that you cannot achieve”

Youth may assist communities in mapping their risk and protective

factors or may hold leadership positions within programs. Some additional
roles that the

youth can undertake include:

1. Sharing the message of an impending crisis.

2. Youth can act as change makers by sharing information they learned in
youth preparedness programs and helping parents and communities to
prepare for disasters that induce a crisis, for example by developing a
disaster plan or disaster preparation kit.

3. Youth can bring creative and resourceful ideas to disaster preparedness

efforts

Alama Iqbal has mentioned the younger generation countless times

in his poetry, one of his quotes goes

“I have love for the youngsters who pull the stars down”

honestly, there's so many examples of the youth making us proud but

to list a few to name

1. Haroon Tariq who broke the world record by scoring 87 As in A

and O levels
2. Saad Ali who’s the only formula 1 racer in the country
3. Laiba Atta who works as a Hollywood visual effects artist

and these are just a few to consider

National development is now in the hands of the young generation.

The older generation has passed on the baton to the youth as it represents
the future of his nation. It counts as its most important asset. When the
youth contributes his ideas and energy to resolve social issues, he
becomes a capable leader and can also make a difference in the lives of
others. Nothing can equal the splendor of the youth. To be young --- that in
itself is to possess a treasure of infinite worth far greater than any person of
power. It is the responsibility of the older generation to provide them with
the right resources, guidance, and a good environment so that they
become strong change we desire.

“we can’t always build a perfect future for the youth but we can
build a perfect youth for the future.”
