Place of living

Ever since the first human being appeared on Earth, people have always created homes for
themselves to be safe and protected from the dangers of weather conditions and wildlife.
There are different types of houses people live in nowadays. For instance, people live in
detached houses, semi-detached houses, bungalows, terraced houses, tower blocks or in flats.
If you live in a detached house:
 less noise
 more privite
 the neighbours are more away
 there are enough place:
o many badrooms: bed, desk. lamp, wardrobe (you can have a walk-in closet)

bathroom there are: bath, shower, soap, basin, towel
o you can have a toilet with a cabinet, toilet brush and plunger
o living room: sofa, television, television cabinet, armchair
o kitchen: oven, cooker, sink
o laundry room: you can wash and iron the laundry
 you can have a garage for your car and a swimmingpool with a grand garden
If you live in a flat:
 when you rent it: you must pay for it
 you have not so much place: this place could be enough for example for 2 adoults, but
not enough for a family
 you haven’t a garden: you have not enough place for an animal
 in a flat there are usually: kitchen, living room, bathroom and a badroom
Flat-related costs:
 utility bill: gas, water, heating, electricity
 you need to pay for them every month
 when something goes wrong you need to call a handyman to fix it

(the countertop), to wash (your clothes), to replace light bulbs (we can do it without a
repairman), to vacuum/to hoover (the floor when it’s dusty)
