I. INTRODUCTION
Development of an Image Recognition System for Improper Attire Detection for HCC

One of the hottest topics buzzing in this industry is computer vision, the ability for

computers to understand images and videos on their own. Self-driving cars, biometrics and facial

recognition all rely on computer vision to work. At the core of computer vision is image

processing. Image processing is the process of transforming an image into a digital form and

performing certain operations to get some useful information from it. The image processing

system usually treats all images as 2D signals when applying certain predetermined signal

processing methods.

Image recognition is the process of identifying an object or a feature in an image or video.

It is used in many applications like defect detection, medical imaging, and security surveillance.

Image recognition, in the context of machine vision, is the ability of software to identify objects,

places, people, writing and actions in digital images. Computers can use machine vision

technologies in combination with a camera and artificial intelligence (AI) software to achieve

image recognition such as Facial recognition.

Facial recognition is used in a variety of contexts, social media, security systems and

entertainment and frequently involves identifying faces in photos and videos. For example, when

someone uploads a photo of their friends on Facebook, the app instantly suggests the friends

whom it believes are in that photo. Deep learning algorithms are used in facial recognition to

evaluate a photo of a person and produce the accurate identity of the individual in the image.

The algorithm can be expanded to extract important attributes such as age, gender and facial

expressions of a person through their image.

The facial recognition feature on smartphones, as well as computerized picture identity

verification at security checkpoints such as airports or building entrances, are the most common

applications of image recognition.

II. BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

This study focuses on improper attire detection for Holy Cross College. Base on the

current situation of Holy Cross College, almost many people are not following the dress code

when entering the campus, that’s why the security guard put them to standby by several minutes

that cause waste of time and to save the time of the students, Developing an Image Recognition

System for Improper Attire Detection to detect those who are not wearing proper attire uniform

and list the names of individuals who are not following the dress code policy to the system

automatically and to be secured that the school policy dress code is always implemented.

III. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This study will monitor how the school security identify students wearing proper attire

and who are not without missing any of the students in a short period of time. The following

research statements are directly addressed by this study:

1. Identifying the current challenges that the security guard of HCC faces in managing

students to wear proper attire.

2. Dealing accuracy/precision on different variation in clothing styles.

3. Assess the system’s functionality, usability, effectiveness and efficiency.

IV. SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

This System aims to detect improper attire for students in Holy Cross college and to

save time not being standby in the waiting area just because of the improper attire. The school

will also be able to maintain the proper wearing of uniform more strictly.

The proposed system development aims to be beneficial to the following:

Students: For the students, the significance of the study is to provide them with a image

recognition system improper attire that monitor that they are following the school dress code at

all times and to save time not being standby in the waiting area just because of the improper

attire.

V. RESEARCH DESIGN

Developmental

Establishing the procedure through which the researcher will get the data for the study is

the goal of the developmental research design. This research design keeps the emphasis on what

remained constant and what changed. It determines what data will be gathered and how it will be

gathered.

VI. INSTRUMENT

Structured interview

A collection of questions is arranged in a structured interview with the guidance of

ISO25010 in order to asses our system more efficiently. These inquiries frequently only allow

for a yes-or-no response or a brief response from the responders. While structured interviews are

simple to conduct, they don't allow much space for improvisation. This interview will help us

determine if our study was able to make impact to improving the strict implementation of

wearing proper dress code of Holy Cross College
