CHAPTER 1: Heads or Tails

Part I: Detectives

PLAYERS PLAY IN THE EYES OF THEO (NOT

CHANGEABLE), BUT VIEWPOINTS WILL CONSTANTLY
CHANGE THROUGHOUT STORY, MUST NOTE!

Two detectives, Theo Holt and Raven Peralta have

lost their reputation as the up-and-coming,
incredibly intelligent detectives due to a
recent scandal which put a large dent into their
careers. After being fired, the two are
approached by officials who represent the
government that believe in their investigative
ability, and have decided to recruit the two for
a highly classified case involving strange
weapons being used by two unidentified
individuals.

INT. BAR - NIGHT

Theo and Raven are taking shots at a bar to

forget about being fired. They drink out of
sadness; Theo is devastated because he needed
the job to help his cousin go to college.

THEO
Dude, I can't believe that really happened. I never
thought that was possible...

RAVEN
I know, and to think that I was this close to a
promotion.

Raven sighs, Theo looks worried.

THEO
What are we going to do now? We can't certainly go
back in there and beg for our jobs back, we still
have pride in ourselves.

Raven looks down in sadness, then remembers.

RAVEN
You used to be a private detective, right? Do you
still have those connections? We could partner up if
you want to.

They are overheard by a Government Official. She

seems to be nervous; she is seen in the
background of the earlier conversation in a
phone call (DON'T FLASHBACK, THIS IS JUST FOR
THE SCRIPT). She approaches the former
detectives and talks to them.

STRANGE WOMAN
Gentlemen, I overheard both of you. I was sitting at
the table next to you. You guys said you were fired
from being detectives?

THEO
Yes, we did. We don't want to talk about it too much
because we're in a bad mood, as you can see.

Theo looks at all the shots on the table. The

strange woman laughs and replies.

STRANGE WOMAN
If you're interested, I might have a job for the both
of you. Of course, we can't talk about it out here
but if you are, you can give me a call on this
number.

The strange woman pulls a calling card from her

pocket, looks at both men, and walks away.

RAVEN
That was... weird.

They both look at the calling card, then they

look at each other and Theo grabs the calling
card.

THEO
Hey, we lost everything. We can't lose anymore,
right? also, let's see what that strange woman has in
store for us.

RAVEN
You're right. Let's finish up all of these and go
home. You can sleep on my couch tonight.

THEO
Thanks dude, you're the best.

EXT. RAVEN'S HOUSE

Theo sits on the front porch while Raven is

trying to open the door. He notices a vehicle
parked in front of the house; he remembers the
same vehicle from the bar which is revealed in a
flashback.

INT. RAVEN'S HOUSE - MIDNIGHT

Raven walks inside the house and turns on the

lights, he calls Theo to go inside as well but
he doesn't. Raven calls him once again but
louder and Theo walks inside.

RAVEN
You okay?

THEO
I'm sorry, I was distracted. There was this strange
vehicle outside your house that I also saw parked
outside the bar.

CAMERA must be shaky, to let us see what Theo

sees, must not be too shaky, only enough to see
the car, must be blurry also.

RAVEN
Wait, what?

Raven is concerned and looks outside, only to

find nothing.

RAVEN
There's nothing outside. Are you sure you saw
anything?

PLAYERS ARE GIVEN A ______

CHOICE: NOT ANSWER OR ANSWER

IF YOU ANSWER:

THEO
I'm not even sure but I am positive I saw something
out there.

Raven looks concerned but doesn't ask more

questions about it. Only thinking that Theo is
way too drunk.

RAVEN
Let's get you to bed, we had a pretty long day. We
still have that strange woman to call tomorrow.

THEO
You're right. Thanks for letting me stay here again.
Goodnight, Theo.

RAVEN
Well... you're Theo and I'm Raven but sure.

Raven silently laughs, he grabs a blanket from a

cabinet and gives it to Theo.

RAVEN
Goodnight, Theo.

IF YOU DONT ANSWER:

RAVEN
Hello? Are you there? You must be tired, let's just
go to bed. You can sleep on the couch.

THEO
Thanks.

They both get ready for bed and Raven is

suspicious of Theo but doesn't act on it.

CUT TO NEXT SCENE

INT. GOVERNMENT OFFICE - DAY

Screaming and chaos are present in the

Department of Damage Control when they receive a
high-class case from the CIA regarding stolen
tech from a top-secret base, or so they thought.

PLAYERS ARE GIVEN A ______

CHOICE: TO SKIP CUTSCENE OR
NOT: (IMPORTANT CHOICE: MUST SAY INGAME)

IF THEY DONT SKIP:

GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL 1 - MALE

Dude, are they really serious? Is this really
happening? A level 5 case was given to us!

GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL 2 - FEMALE

I know! I guess we have to open it now, it looks
 5.

pretty huge too.

They both stare at the file and G.O 1 decides to

open it revealing hundreds of pages, hundreds of
retracted sentences and hundreds of notes with
labels.

GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL 1 - MALE

Oh my... This is much bigger than I even anticipated.
We can't do all this work ourselves.

GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL 2 - FEMALE

We'll need everybody's help, let's ask Eve.

GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL 1 - MALE

Is she even available? Let me give her a call.

G.O 1 calls Eve (Strange Woman) and tells her

all about the case. She's a legendary woman in
the Department, solving ever case she's handed.
She has been working for 37 years and doesn't
have plans on retiring anytime soon.

IF THEY SKIP: (CUT TO THIS; DO NOT INCLUDE ANYTHING ABOVE)

REMOVE GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL VOICE, CHANGE TO
GIBBERISH; ADDS TO MYSTERY OF SKIPPING THE DIALOGUE.

INT. BAR - NIGHT

The camera pans from behind, it is revealed she

was talking to the Government Officials the
night Theo and Raven got fired. She is in dismay
but overheard their conversation. She thinks for
a minute...

EVE (STRANGE WOMAN)

Alright, alright. Relax there, skip. It's only been
your first week and I can understand why you'll feel
that. I'll do something about it, just give me a
minute.

OVER THE PHONE: GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL 1 - MALE

Okay, thank you so much. We really appreciate you
helping us out. I'll send the details on my phone.

A ding is heard, a file has been sent to Eve's

phone. She clicks it to reveal hundreds and
hundreds of files.

EVE (STRANGE WOMAN)

Oh wow, this really is... a lot. I'll get down to it.

You guys don't worry, and I'll finish this in no

time. You better get some sleep! Goodbye.

OVER THE PHONE: GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL 1 & 2 - MALE AND

FEMALE
We appreciate it! Thank you.

We see the scene play out again, only this time

in Eve's view. We follow Eve outside and she
makes another phone call. A menacing voice
answers on the other line

OVER THE PHONE: MENACING VOICE

What? Did you get the task?

EVE (STRANGE WOMAN)

Get it? It was given to me. It was handed to me in a
fresh plate with very, very nervous and frankly dumb
waiters.

OVER THE PHONE: MENACING VOICE

Good. You will need to find it before the month ends.
You have 20 days. You know what'll happen if you
don't find it... No pressure.

EVE (STRANGE WOMAN)

Thanks, Sir. Cheery as always. Have a good day.

Eve puts the phone down and waits in the car for
Theo and Raven to go home. She follows them
menacingly, eager to know where they'll go and
what they'd do. A part of their first test.

EVE (STRANGE WOMAN)

I've put the bait boys... time to bite.

She says menacingly, then drives away as she

notices Theo looking directly at her.

CUT TO BLACK.
