Once upon a time, in a cozy little cottage in the
countryside, lived a curious cat named Mittens and a
clever mouse named Squeakers
 Mittens loved nothing more than chasing after
Squeakers, but no matter how hard she tried, she
could never catch him.
One day, Mittens
was lounging in
the sun when she
heard a strange
noise.
She crept around the corner to investigate and saw
Squeakers nibbling on a piece of cheese. Mittens
pounced, but Squeakers was too quick and darted
under a small hole in the wall.
Mittens was determined to catch Squeakers, so she
came up with a plan. She pretended to be asleep,
waiting for Squeakers to come out of his hole.
Sure enough,
Squeakers eventually
emerged, lured by the
smell of Mittens'
catnip toy.
As soon as Squeakers was out in the
open, Mittens sprang into action. But
Squeakers was ready this time and led
Mittens on a wild chase around the
cottage.
They ran up and down
stairs, over furniture,
and even through the
flower garden outside.
 Finally, Squeakers led Mittens to a corner of
the cottage where a bowl of milk was sitting
on the floor. As Mittens paused to take a drink,
Squeakers darted out of the room and back to
his hole.
Mittens was
disappointed that she
didn't catch
Squeakers, but she
was grateful for the
bowl of milk.
 From that day on, Mittens and
Squeakers had a mutual
understanding. Mittens would get
her exercise chasing Squeakers,
and Squeakers would get a treat
of cheese or milk in return.
And so, they lived happily
ever after in the little
cottage in the countryside.
