This HR Leave Policy is aimed to help our employees balance their personal and
professional life, while following regulatory requirements for leave and vacations. All
regular employees of the company are covered by the policy. The following policy
covers the basics of a leave policy and can be customized as per the organization
requirements.

Guidelines for the Leave Policy


● Leave is not a matter of right and can be granted or refused depending on
business demands.
● Leave of absence without proper approval can result in disciplinary action.
● All leave records will be maintained in the HR records.
● Employees shall be marked eligible for Earned Leave only after completing 12
months in the organization.
● Casual and sick leaves cannot be carried forward to the next year.An employee
can avail paid leave depending on their leave balance and unpaid leave can be
availed when leave balance is exhausted
● An employee shall not proceed on leave unless the leave has been approved
by the reporting manager.
● Different types of Leaves are given and listed in the Company Annual Leave
Policy, including casual leave, sick leave, earned leave, marriage leave,
maternity leave and paternity leave.
● Leave calendar is calculated from January to December.
Types of Leave
Casual Leave:
Maximum 7 days of paid leave can be availed by an employee in a year. Casual leave
cannot be carried forward to the next year and cannot be clubbed with earned leave
or any other type of leave.

Earned Leave:
An employee earns 1 earned leave after every 24 working days. Leave applications for
Earned leave must reach the reporting manager in advance. A maximum of 9
earned leave can be carried forward to the next year.

Sick Leave:
A maximum of 7 days of paid leave can be availed by an employee in a year. Sick
leaves cannot be carried forward to the next year and cannot be clubbed with
earned leave or any other type of leave.

Maternity Leave:
Applicable for female employees. 26 weeks of paid leave to any woman who has
worked for at least 12 months preceding the expected date of delivery.

Paternity Leave:
Applicable for male employees. 2-4 weeks of paid leave to any man who has worked
for at least 12 months preceding the expected date of the delivery of their infant.

Leave without pay:


Can be availed by an employee at the time of emergency and when no leave balance
is left.

Summary -
Each employee can thus avail a total of 14 leaves annually including both medical
and casual leaves. They also earn 1 leave for every 24 working days ( this will not
include Sundays, Off Saturdays and any other holidays when the team isn’t
working)
How to Apply For A Leave?
Casual and earned leaves can only be availed when a leave application has been sent
in advance and has been approved by the reporting manager. Employees can avail
medical leaves in case of medical emergencies regardless of the time and date.

aashitagupta@alinedstudios.com at least 5 days before the application for dates. If
you are looking for a long set of off-days for vacation, family gatherings or functions,
please apply for a leave at least 21 days before you take an absence. Failure to do so
can result in loss of pay and disapproval of your leaves.
