MILL SELECT STK #2 & Better Western Red Cedar Lumber

NO. 2 AND BETTER Western Red Cedar Lumber is a knotty grade that meets appearance requirements. It
has structural qualities however we do not grade for that.

We buy an appearance grade cedar - still big hunkin beams that can hold some load but you don't want to
build a house on it. But perfect for Pergolas, Gazebos, Arbors, Awnings and Beams for decking, trim and
Timber accent points.

Rough Cedar Lumber receives its texture from a milling process which uses roughened planer knives. The
rough texture is clearly visible on all four sides. Surfaced Four Sides (S4S) has a smooth surface on all four
sides uniformly sized with a high quality appearance.

MEASUREMENTS: Our Cedar Timbers 6" and up measure true 6" to 12" thickness. 2 - 4" run aprox 1/4" less.
Surfacing will shed another 1/4" from thickness.

Here are a few things to keep in mind when you go with big timber. We CAN stain it in our machines however we
do rack dry so one side will have pineapple marks from our feeder.

If you are going to use as a post that will be visible from 4 sides you will want to finish on the jobsite.

The other big thing is the TEXTURE. We can surface these beams however our professional advice is to leave
them ROUGH. They will accept more stain, show fewer flaws and last longer than SMOOTH face texture.
