Halloween
Today, Halloween in the United Kingdom is celebrated in a similar way to
how it is celebrated in the United States, although it is not as large.
Children dress up in costumes and go door to door asking for candy, a
tradition known as trick or treating. Homes and shops are often
decorated with Halloween themes, including carved pumpkins, witches,
ghosts, and cobwebs.

New Year
The New Year celebration in the United Kingdom begins on the night of
December 31, known as New Year's Eve or Hogmanay in Scotland. Many
people attend private parties, special dinners, or public events to
welcome the New Year.

A very popular tradition in the United Kingdom is the countdown to

midnight. People gather at iconic landmarks like Big Ben in London to
hear the clock chime and celebrate the arrival of the New Year. At
midnight, they hug each other, wish each other a "Happy New Year" and
often toast each other with champagne.
Thanksgiving Day
Thanksgiving Day is an American holiday celebrated on the fourth
Thursday in November. It is a day when families come together to give
thanks and share a special meal, usually with roast turkey, mashed

In the UK, no specific day of Thanksgiving is celebrated in the same way.

However, there are some similar traditions in the UK that focus on
gratitude and celebrating the harvest.

Valentine's Day

In the UK, Mother's Day is celebrated on the fourth Sunday of Lent,
which usually falls in March. During this day, people usually express their
love and gratitude towards their mothers in various ways.

carnations and roses. Flowers are a symbol of love and appreciation, and
many people choose to send bouquets to their mothers or bring them
flowers in person.
