Halloween
Today, Halloween in the United Kingdom is celebrated in a similar way to
how it is celebrated in the United States, although it is not as large.
Children dress up in costumes and go door to door asking for candy, a
tradition known as trick or treating. Homes and shops are often
decorated with Halloween themes, including carved pumpkins, witches,
ghosts, and cobwebs.
New Year
The New Year celebration in the United Kingdom begins on the night of
December 31, known as New Year's Eve or Hogmanay in Scotland. Many
people attend private parties, special dinners, or public events to
welcome the New Year.
Valentine's Day
February 14, Valentine's Day, is a day when couples and friends express
their love and appreciation for each other. Although it is not an official
holiday, many people in the UK celebrate this occasion in a romantic and
affectionate way.
During Valentine's Day, it is common for couples to exchange Valentine's
cards, gifts, and flowers, especially red roses, which symbolize love. You
can also plan a romantic dinner at a restaurant or prepare a delicious
meal at home.
Mother's Day
In the UK, Mother's Day is celebrated on the fourth Sunday of Lent,
which usually falls in March. During this day, people usually express their
love and gratitude towards their mothers in various ways.
A common way to celebrate Mother's Day is to give flowers, especially
carnations and roses. Flowers are a symbol of love and appreciation, and
many people choose to send bouquets to their mothers or bring them
flowers in person.
