Albumin 【ALB】

Immunoglobulin 【IgG】

Beta-2 microglobulin 【β2-MG】

1.【ALB】

z The molecular weight is about 70,000.

z It is hard to be filtrated by glomerulus.
z Therefore, the amount of it in urine is very small.
z If the amount of ALB in urine is higher than
normal, it reflex the impairment of the glomerulus.
the higher amount,
the worse impairment.
2.【IgG】

z the molecular weight is about 160,000.

z The amount of IgG in urine is smaller than ALB.
z Slightly impairment of glomerulus: ALB
z Further impairment of glomerulus: ALB IgG
3.【β2-MG】
z The molecular weight is about 10,000.

z 100% of β2-MG is filtrated by glomerulus.

z 99.9% of it is reabsorbed by renal tubules.

z The amount of β2-MG in urine is very small.

Clinic Application
1.To find out the location, shape
and size of kidney

1)location

2
2)shape

3
3)size

4
2.To diagnosis the urinary obstruction

1)Renography

zC 1/2 >8min
z diuretic renography

5
2) Renal imaging
•renal function imaging: the images of kidney disappear late
•renal function imaging
(dynamic) Above the obstruction, the size of
renal cortical imaging urinary system becomes bigger.
(static)

dynamic imaging

static imaging
3.To evaluate the impairment of renal function

1)Renography
abnormal renography
each kidney
2)renal imaging

renal cortical imaging

renal perfusion imaging renal function imaging

3)ALB
IgG
β2-MG
•all higher than normal
•To distinguish the
impairment reason
4. the infection of urinary system

judge the exist and extent of infection

1)mild infection
 renography: normal or abnormal (staircase decline)
 ALB, IgG and β2-MG are slightly higher
 renal imaging: normal
2)severe infection
 renography: abnormal
 ALB, IgG and β2-MG are apparently higher
 static imaging: scar formation
 dynamic imaging: the images of kidney appear late
5. renal vascular disease

1)acute embolism of renal artery

•renal perfusion imaging can rapidly diagnose

•the first choice

20
2)unilateral renovascular hypertension
renography: unilateral small renogram
renal perfusion imaging: blood flow
renal function imaging: phase inversion
