Course No : MA3205
Syllabus
Algebra of sets, rings, fields, sigma-rings and sigma fields of sets, Lebesgue outer measure and
Lebesgue measure, properties of measurable sets, measurable functions, Borel and Lebesgue
measurability.
Lebesgue Integral of bounded function, Comparison of Riemann and Lebesgue integral,
Convergence theorems – Monotone Convergence Theorem, Dominated Convergence Theorem
and Fatou’s Theorem, Integral of non-negative functions, General Lebesgue integral, Relation
between differentiation and integration – Functions of Bounded variations.
Scope
Objective
To develop skills so that student might be able to handle problems arising in real analysis.
To fill the gap that we counter while studying integral calculus.
