    What Is Thermal Desorption? Thermal desorption removes organic contaminants from soil, sludge or
    sediment by heating them in a machine called a “thermal desorber” to evaporate the contaminants.
    Evaporation changes the contaminants into vapors (gases) and separates them from the solid material.
