SELECTION PROCESS:

Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)

Exam Pattern: The Examination Pattern will be as follows:

PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION

- The exam is of Objective type i.e it consists of Multiple-Choice Questions.


- This exam consists of 2 papers.
- Paper I consist of questions from General Studies (100 Marks.)
- Paper II consists of questions from Law Subject (150 Marks)

Candidates who get qualified in this exam will be called for Mains.

Paper-I: General Studies (100 Marks)


• General Knowledge (Including Current Affairs)
• Elementary General Science

Paper -II: Law (150 Marks)


• Law of Evidence and Procedure (Civil Procedure Code, Criminal Procedure Code)
• Constitutional & Administrative Law of India
• Hindu Law and Muhammadan Law
• Law of Transfer of Property, Principles of Equity, Law of Trusts and Specific Relief
Act.
• Law of Contracts and Law of Torts
• Commercial Law
MAINS EXAMINATION
The Exam consists of 2 types of papers:
 Compulsory Papers.
 Optional Papers.
• There will be 5 Papers that are Compulsory for this exam.
• The Hindi & English are of qualifying nature.
• There will be 5 subjects in Optional type out of which, the candidate
has to choose 3 subjects as optional.

Compulsory Paper:
• General Knowledge including Current Affairs (150 Marks)
• Elementary General Science (100 Marks)
• General Hindi (100 Marks)
• General English (100 marks)
• Law of Evidence and Procedure (150 Marks)

Optional Paper:

• Constitutional & Administrative Law of India (150 Marks)


• Hindu law and Muhammadan law (150 Marks)
• Law of Transfer of Property, Principles of Equity, Law of Trusts and Specific Relief
(150 marks)
• Law of Contracts and Torts (150 Marks)
• Commercial Law (150 marks)

VIVA-VOCE (INTERVIEWS)
Written Mains qualified candidates have to appear for the interview. This interview
round is for 100 marks.

Bihar Judicial Services Exam Eligibility Criteria:


❖ A candidate needs to be the citizen of India.
❖ Moreover, a candidate needs to be having the domicile of Bihar to get the reservation
benefits.
❖ Applicants must have completed LLB from any recognized institute.
❖ The age of the applicants must be between 22 years and 35 years.
❖ The candidates, who have a permanent domicile in the state of Bihar
and belong to the reserved category, will be offered the relaxation in
their upper age.
❖ The age relaxation for the candidates of the OBC category will be of 3 years.
❖ The candidates of the SC and ST category will get the age relaxation of 5 years.
