Title: Proposal for a 2-Year MSC Program in Dental Implantology

Objective: To establish a 2-year Master of Science (MSC) program in Dental


Implantology at the Faculty of Dentistry, Liaquat University of Medical and
Health Sciences in Jamshoro, Pakistan.

Program Overview:

 Duration: 2 years, divided into four semesters.


 Tuition Fee: 2 lacs per semester.
 Selection of students: Six students per year.
 Location: Advance Dental Care Center, Liaquat University of Medical and
Health Sciences, Jamshoro.
 Supervisor Requirements: Faculty must have FCPS qualifications in
Prosthodontics and Oral Surgery with five years teaching experience.

Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must have a BDS degree and have completed a
one-year house job. Admission will be through an entrance test.

Program Outline:

 Semester 1: Fundamentals of Implantology


 Covers implant history, osseointegration, oral anatomy, radiology,
diagnostic skills, and basic surgical techniques.
 Semester 2: Advanced Implant Surgery and Prosthodontics
 Includes advanced surgical procedures, implant prosthodontics, and
complication management.
 Semester 3: Esthetics and Complex Cases
 Focuses on esthetic implantology, complex case management, and
research skills.
 Semester 4: Clinical Practice and Dissertation Writing
 Involves clinical practice, dissertation writing, and professional
development.

Exit Exam Pattern:

 Written Exam: Covers theoretical knowledge in dental implantology.


 Clinical Assessment: Evaluates clinical skills in implant procedures.
 Research Presentation: Requires students to present their research findings.
 Oral Viva Voce: Involves interviews to assess students' understanding of dental
implantology.
 Grading: Each component is graded separately, and students must pass each
to successfully complete the exit exam.
 Evaluation Panel: Qualified faculty members evaluate the components.
 Scoring System: A scoring system is used for consistency.
