7. (a) explain any three methods in which an installation can be protected from corrosion
(6mks)
(b)with the aid of a labeled diagram , describe the impressed current method of cathodic
protection. (8mks)
(c) define the following terms as applied in electrical installation.
I. Maintenance factor
II. luminance
III. Luminous intensity (6mks)

8. (a) If a light source of intensity of 450cd is 3m directly above a point on a horizontal


bench, calculate
I. The illumination on that point.
II. The illumination on a second point on the bench which is 4m away from the point in
(c) (i) above (8mks)
(b)with the aid of a labeled diagram describe the sacrificial anode method. (6mks)
(c) a luminaire giving 250cd in all directins is suspended 3metres above the centre of a
square floor of side 4.5m:
I. Identify the points where minimum illumination will occur on the floor;
II. Determine minimum illumination. (6mks)
