It’s July 19th today, and it’s the first day of the San Diego Comic-Con! Comic-
Con is an important event in San Diego – more than 130,000 people visit every
year. These people are big fans of comic books, movies, and TV – just like me!
Right now, we’re standing outside and waiting to go in. We’re taking a lot of
photos. It’s my first time at Comic-Con and I’m really excited!

We’re in the main room of Comic-Con now. There’s a lot to see! We’re doing
some shopping, and we’re watching trailers for new movies and TV programs.
Lots of comic book artists are selling their pictures here. The pictures are really
good, but I think they’re pretty expensive.

I think we need a break! We’re waiting to buy some lunch. There are a lot of
people here and there are big lines everywhere. But all of the people here are
really friendly – and their clothes are amazing! A man is standing in front of us.
His name’s Alex and he’s from Los Angeles. He’s wearing a long coat, brown
boots, a hat, and a lot of jewelry – he’s Captain Jack Sparrow from the movie
Pirates of the Caribbean! He looks great. And in line behind us? Spider-Man,
Mr. Spock, and Batman!

We’re waiting again! This time it’s for a special talk about Steven Spielberg’s
new movie. It starts in 20 minutes …

That’s it! It’s the end of the day. We’re tired and we’re traveling home. I think
Comic-Con is a fun event and I definitely want to come again. See you next
