4.1.7 HYPOTHESIS (2) FINDINGS Based on the

research findings from the statistical analysis of
the above table the Cal: x is 66.60 while the
degree of freedom (DF) is 4 and P-value is 0.000,
the null hypothesis is hereby rejected in favor of
the alternative hypothesis this means there is an
association between Parent-Student relationship
on Student's educational performance. 4.1.
8 Further research Findings From table 4.1.6

DISCUSSIONS ON THE FINDINGS Based on the
research of the study on the research question
(1)"Does parents involvement Influence
Student's academic /educational
performance? Thus, the null hypothesis is rejected
while the alternative hypothesis is accepted as
78.0%Agreed (A) 24.3% disagreed (D) that parents
control influences Student's academic
performance because it was found out that
parents often censor the activities of their children
within and outside the house which doesn't
allow for any misconduct, and censored on what
they are watching or what they view on television
even most students are often scolded by their
parents each time they perform poorly in their
Academics. It was also observed that fewer
students are censored by their parents on the
kind of friends they keep at home and in school. It
was further added that fewer students were
censored by their parents on the type of parties
they attend.According to “ldowu (2004)”, guidance
counseling provides the students with the
understanding of the local careers opened to
them and ways by which they can find them
places.it was added that it was a helping process
in which the counselor presents a series of
lessons representing a curriculum of counseling
Moreover.Parenting style is meant to help with
students social and personal development
academic development, career or vocational
development. On the findings of the study, the
research question 2 How best Parental
involvement will affect performance?Based on the
findings the null hypothesis is rejected while the
alternative hypothesis is accepted as 75.
7% Agreed (A) and 24.4%Disagreed (D) That
parent involving in their children’s education can
Influence Student’s educational performance.
Omotosho (2003).identified that both parents and
teacher's contributions to career guidance
which are; identifying and referring students who
are having identity, decision making, adjustment
or home problems; Providing information integral
to particular subject matter which helps children
in career choice educational or occupational
options; Infusing concrete examples of pertinent
theoretical motions from the world of work into
course contents; Introducing students to
information and exercises pertinent to
sell-awareness, awareness of occupation and
educational alternatives and awareness of how
these factors are combined in decision making
administrative staff who are the non-teaching

other in the development of career choices in
schools.CHAPTER FIVE (SUMMARY, CONCLUSION

limitations of the study were also given within the
chapter.Chapter two is about the literature Review
and parenting styles which are Authoritative,
Authoritarian, Permissive and Uninvolved parents.
Chapter Three gave the methodology used in the
study A descriptive design was used in the
statistical analysis .

The statistical analysis and interpretation of the

findings from the analyzed data were presented in
chapter four which includes Validity of the
instruments which was computed using Pearson
correlation two tailed test and the Values which
states the direction and strength of the linear
relationship between two continuous
measurements under assumption of normal
distribution of two variables.Which shows N-
Sample size D- Degree of freedom N - 2 The
obtained value > critical value in the table the
sample.
