A.1 Isolation Wards HSD

126 no. of isolation wards (1,087 beds) are under EMSTF maintenance.
The functionality has been checked. 90% of wards (i.e. 114 wards
involving 879 beds) has been switched to isolation mode. The rest (12
wards involving 208 beds) are ready for changeover to isolation mode
operation in 72 hours. Support will be provided to hospitals in
accordance with their operational need.

A.2 Designated Fever Clinic (DFC) HSD

18 GOPCs are equipped with facilities for conversion to DFC. The

functionality of all equipment has been checked and found in order.
They are ready for changeover in 48 hours upon notice by hospital FM.

A.3 A&E Department HSD

The ACH of A&E departments has been checked to be in compliance

with the requirements.

B. Department of Health
B.1 Enhanced Fever Screening Systems (FSS) HSD

The traditional FSS makes use of two monitors, one for video image and
another for thermal image. The enhanced FSS using digital thermal
imager is based on development work for the Smart Fever Screening

 System (a TechConnect funded project) to integrate the video image and
alert signal into one screen for easy identification of suspected subject.

17 sets of enhanced FSS have been assembled (with one set kept by
HKUST for development work and standby unit). 16 has been deployed
to the following border control point on 23 January 2020:

5 spare units analogue thermal imager will be borrowed from DH for

trial modification with a view to converting them for use in enhanced
FSS system. The trial is expected to be completed by 7 February 2020.
This will pave the way for converting traditional FSS system into the
enhanced FSS if so desired.

B.2 Installation of Gas Water Heater HSD

GSDA
HSD received a request for assistance from an officer of CHP/DH (Mr.
CHAN 2125 2515) on 22 January 2020 in relation to installation of gas
water heaters in a vacant block of a public housing estate (tentatively Fai
Ming Estate). GSDA assisted to contact senior management of Town
Gas who agreed to render full support. HSD explained the details and
passed the contact of Town Gas to CHP/DH for arrangement. Town Gas
has stock of up to 500 quantity of TGC SP13SK 128L instant type gas
heaters and provided a quotation to DH on 23 January 2020 for the
supply and installation of 100 / 200 / 300 / 400 / 500 units. It is
understood that DH expected Town Gas to complete the installation
within a few days on confirmation.

C. Leisure and Cultural Services Department

C.1 Quarantine Camp MunSD

 Lady MacLehose Holiday Village (LMHV) and Lei Yue Mun Park &
Holiday Village (LYMPHV) are selected as quarantine camp. The E&M
facilities at LMHV and LYMPHV have been checked to be in order. In
addition, the following items have been kept on site for stand-by
purpose.

 2 x 7.5kW mobile gen-set
 10 x battery operated flood light
 10 x 50m 4-way extension reel
Two more mobile gen-sets, one 200A 3-phase and one 100A 3-phase,
would be arranged on 23 Jan 2020. Our contractor will be advised to
prepare for provision of necessary supporting services when so required.

LYMPHV
 2 x 6 kVA mobile genset
 2 x mobile high pole floodlight
 6 x portable battery floodlight
 5 x cable extension reel
 2 x mobile air-conditioner
We've liaised with our contractors to prepare for the provision of high
capacity mobile gensets, electrical wiring installations, air-
conditioning/ventilation improvement, and other necessary engineering
support services when so required.

B.1 One batch of PPE (the 'Half-yearly Requirement for Oct19 - Mar20' SSD

 However, due to limited stock in GLD, ordered quantities of three items
involving mouth mask and surgical gloves were partially delivered to
SSD for distribution.

In view of the limited stock of N95 mouth mask, a direct purchase of a

total of 2,280 numbers N95 mouth mask has been made by SSD and
delivered to our store on 23 January 2020.

GLD has allocated some stock of PPE based on our one-off

requirement submitted last week and has advised that the items will be
delivered before 14 February.

B.2 Procurement of N95 Respirator Fit Testers is under way based on needs SSD

C.1 A dedicated webpage on “Severe Respiratory Disease associated with a EMSDCCC
Novel Infectious Agent” was set up in EMSDHOME to collate related HSD
information for easy reference by staff

Thoughts” on 15 January 2020.

Infection” has been activated on opening of EMSDHOME and domain
