Teachers/Academic Staff

According to the interviewee, there has not been cases of teachers loaded with
works beyond the signed job description and are not compensated for it. Although some
of the paper works are not sworn and stated in the contract, but mostly are done for the
name of the university with just recognition of their efforts to what they have done and
contributed to the success of such endeavor like accreditation, and quality management
systems.
Teachers’ intellectual property is sustained through proper acknowledgement of
their works most especially in times of article and research publications. Everything is
written under their respective names and are mostly used during promotions and
research extensions.
The institution sees the duties and responsibilities of teachers as vital in the
realm of developing and nurturing the students’ capacity as they are the front of the
institution. With this, teachers are regarded with due respect within or outside the
premise of the University so long as they carry its name and identity.
In cases of declining the resignation of academic personnel, there are. However,
not only for the benefit of the institution but for the individual as well for further growth in
his/her chosen career. However, it is understandable that career growth must be under
the discretion of the person and not anyone else.’

Administrators

There has been no pressing issue with regard to administrators of the University
as people, most especially students and their subordinates see them as someone who
is very respected and are deemed with due recognition whenever seen within the
premise of the university.
On the view of administrative personnel, some are seen as someone different
from the teaching staff, and most of the time are treated with hierarchy most especially
from those who hold a higher position. They tend to over-bound and be blinded by the
fact that they are also employees and are hired accordingly through the procedure.

Students

Students experienced having quality education through having the right and most
qualified instructors given to them, most especially to the front line programs. Although,
some students are having problems when it comes to minor subject teachers who tend
to overdo and overwork the students without receiving equal learning and instruction
from the professor.
Students are free to choose a program they want to enroll in. The only chance of
them of not being able to enroll in their chosen program is that, they were not able to
meet the requirements according to the policies of the program or of the college in
general. With the presence of the admission test, students are redirected into programs
depending on the result of their exam, but still under the discretion of the applicant.
Students feel well accommodated in the guidance and counseling services of the
university as there are counselors willing to attend to them.
Students, most especially in the advent of technology, are entitled to a portal
account where they can access some but not all, of their school records in a more
accessible but confidential way.
Students are embodied with student council officers supervised by advisers, and
they are entitled to the school’s publication and attendance to seminars and
symposiums pertinent to their field.
Students enjoy their right to the release of pertinent documents from the
university such as TOR, Diploma, and many more.
Students are heard by the administrators of the university, most especially if their
concern is not selfish, and is legally sound on the rules and regulations of the university.
Problems arise when some students ask for something that is beyond the might of the
university and if there is a threat to tarnish its name.

Schools
In the foregrounds of RA 10931, or the Free Tuition Act in State Universities and
Colleges, according to the admission personnel, does not admit students in an instant,
but rather go through a procedure before being able to enroll. This, in its sense gives
the right to the schools whether or not to admit a student if he/she either meets the
requirements for admission or not, most especially obtaining a passing score in the
College Admission Test.
However, according to a staff from a private institution, admission of students still
go through procedures involving financial matters. They also have series of evaluation
and assessment procedures but unlike state colleges and universities, they do not have
absorptive capacities in their program.
One of the interviewees reiterated also the importance of selecting the best
teaching and administrative staff of the institution who can provide quality education and
services to students.
School Personnel
One interviewee commended their institution for listening to their plights as
school personnel. According to him, they are served well with the rights to express what
they need and what they feel, being replenished later on by the administrators.
One of the eyed units in every government institutions is the Anti-Red Tape
Committee as they see the adversities of the personnel and legal actions that may be
incurred from specific actions therewith by an individual which basically could be against
the procedures of the different units within the organization. According to the
interviewee, there has not been issues on the conflict of interest between and among
the staff of the organization. They are given rather, the freedom to defend themselves
which maintains a healthy working space and safe for the welfare of everyone.
In the sense of contributions which is involuntary, there had been issues
according to him, that they will just be shocked about the deductions in their salaries
which they are not informed at an earlier date. Their plight is to not do it without
consent, or to inform them so as to not induce distress after knowing what happened to
their salaries.
