Technology Makes People More Ignorant

Technology is the most useful form of science for the general population. In simple
words, technology is when we take the concepts of science and transform them into gadgets
and devices that are useful to us as human beings. When we look around us, almost
everything is a result of a form of technology. However, most people believe technology
makes us even more ignorant and affects our memory. I agree with the view that technology
makes people more ignorant because people are more dependent and addicted to
technology.

First and foremost, people are reliant on technology which causes people to be more
ignorant. This is because people think technology makes our lives easier. Nowadays, I bet we
cannot lead a normal life even for a day without technology. The “Gen Z” are not effectively
using their brains to think and are influenced by technology, so their brains become less
active and productive. When our brains become less active, it will impact our daily lives. For
instance, their dopamine weakens and their brains react slowly causing them to be more
forgetful. As a result, the more dependent we are on technology, the more forgetful we will
be.

Secondly, people are more obsessive towards technology causing them to be more
unknowledgeable. Some individuals become addicted to technology, spending excessive
amounts of time on their devices. This addiction can lead to neglecting important
responsibilities, including educational or intellectual pursuits, and can ultimately contribute
to ignorance. People are also hooked up with entertainment from the gadgets that refuse
them to acknowledge what is happening in the outside world such as the online gamers.
Since that, people have gravitated to become more wrapped up in themselves.
Consequently, people become less social and more materialistic. People think that sticking
to the entertainment from one gadget, helps them escape from the real world and live an
imaginary life. Thus, technology makes people more addicted to it which causes people
more ignorant.

In conclusion, technology has pros and cons. Technology has become a crucial part of our
society and relying on technology makes us more unaware. Nonetheless, without
technological advancements, so much of our everyday lives would be drastically different. As
technology develops, it strives to fulfill the changing needs of society.
