1. Code the data using Control+F in excel. Replace the chosen word with number code.

2. Open the spss and enter the data in the “data view”.

3. Label each data in the “variable view”. Then click the “values” to enter codes in each variable.
4. Get the frequency of the profile of the respondents by clicking “analyze” then “descriptive statistics” then
“frequencies”. Click the arrow to enter the variable data. Then click “ok”.

5. Click the result in the spss output then copy it to a word file. Transfer the frequency data to a new table, Put a table
number and a title to the table (must be patterned from the SOP). Follow the sample format below.

Age Frequency Percebtage

21-30 31 15.9
31-40 64 32.8
41-50 56 28.7
51-60 41 21.0
61-70 3 1.5
Total 195 100.0

2. To compare means according to profile variables, click “analyze” then go to “compare means”. From there, you may choose
specific statistical tools you will be needing to analyze the data. Once the dialogue box is open, identify your dependent list
and the factor. Click option then click descriptives. Click posthoc (incase the result is significant. This is applicable to multiple
comparison). Choose Chefe. Click ok to run the data.
3. Copy the stat result and input it to the word file you have created earlier. Follow the sample format below.

4. For test for correlation if using chi square, click analyze, descriptive stats, then choose crosstabs. Click statistics, then click
chi squarethen click phi and cramer’s v. Click ok to run the stat. follow sample format below. Use the table below to interpret
the Cramer’s V (r value).

6. For test for correlation if Pearson correlation, click analyze, correlate, bivariate then click two correlational pair. Use
the table above to interpret the strength of relationship. Follow sample table format below:

Awareness and Perceived Effectiveness of The DOH- Smoking Cessation Program

Among PUV Drivers: Input for a Program Reinforcement

Statement of the Problem

The study specifically aims to answer the following questions:

1. What is the profile of the respondents in terms of:

a) Personal Profile

• Age
 Sex
• Civil Status

• Educational Attainment

• Number of seminars attended about smoking cessation

• Confinement for the past 3 years

• Comorbidities

• Years of service in driving as PUV driver

• Status of Operation

• PUV Terminal

• Average monthly income

b) Smoking Profile

• Smoking

 Number of sticks consumed per day

• Number of months/years of cigarette smoking

• Frequency of quitting cigarette smoking

2. What is the level of awareness of respondents regarding the DOH - Smoking cessation program in terms of the following
dimensions:

a) Awareness on the Existence of the DOH - Smoking Cessation Program

b) Awareness on the Promotional Strategy of the DOH - Smoking Cessation Program

c.) Awareness on the health services offered by the DOH - Smoking Cessation Program

d) Awareness on Pharmacologic Interventions

3. What is the level of perceived effectiveness of the respondents regarding the DOH - Smoking cessation program?
4. Is there a significant difference in the level of awareness of respondents regarding the DOH - Smoking cessation program of
PUV drivers on the DOH - Smoking Cessation Program when grouped according to profiles?

5. Is there a significant difference in the level of perceived effectiveness of the respondents regarding the DOH - Smoking
cessation program when grouped according to profiles?

6. Is there a significant correlation between the level of awareness of respondents regarding the DOH - Smoking cessation
program of PUV drivers to profiles?

7. Is there a significant correlation between the level of perceived effectiveness of the respondents regarding the DOH -
Smoking cessation program to profiles?

8. 4. Is there a significant correlation between the level of awareness and perceived effectiveness of PUV drivers on the DOH -
Smoking Cessation Program when grouped according to profiles?

ESTABLISH THE HYPOTHESES OF THE STUDY

VII. Statistical Analysis

Assuming that the data are normally distributed, the following will be used:

The data on the respondents’ profiles will be summarized through a tally based on the respondents’ specific answers using
frequency and percentage distribution.

Weighted mean and standard deviation will be used to describe the level of awareness and perceived effectiveness of
Department of Health - Smoking Cessation Program.

T-TEST and ANOVA will be used to test significant difference.

Chi-Square and Pearson r will be used for test of correlation.

The analysis of awareness and perceived effectiveness on the DOH - Smoking Cessation Program was determined using the
weighted mean criteria below:
