Calms Presentation - by Slidesgo
Calms Presentation - by Slidesgo
The earth is the uh 3rd planet away from the sun and the
only planet (that we know of) to harbour and support
life, preferably the life of humans :)
Your Welcome
Basic Movements Of The Earth
There are 2 basic movements of the earth, Revolution &
Rotation.
Rotation
The earth takes about 24 hours to complete a full
rotation. 24 Hours = a day
Spring
-During Spring, both poles receive equal amounts of sunlight, that is 12hrs
of day and 12hrs of night(also known as Equinox) -Begins
March 21 and ends June 20
Autumn
During each season the Earth assumes different positions as it goes around
the sun
Rotation
When a side of the Earth is experiencing daylight that
simply means that the Earth is facing the sun. Since light
travels in a straight line, the side of the Earth that isn’t
facing the sun is experiencing night.
Climate Zones
The time or date (twice each year) at which the sun reaches its maximum
or minimum declination, marked by the longest and shortest days (about
June 21 and December 22). - The internet
Equinox- The time or date (twice a year) at which the sun crosses the
celestial equator; when day and night are approximately equal length
(22nd of September and the 20th of March)
Leap Year
We get a leap year every 4 years because every year there is a quarter of a
day, so once you add those quarters of a day together you will get an extra
day or a whole day. In a normal year there are 365¼ days while in a leap
year there are 366 days
What is an Eclipse?
This occurs when one object block another object(the passing
of a celestial body between the sun and another object
temporarily blocking the sun’s light from reaching the other
object)
