OBJECTIVE

Have you ever experienced an unpleasant feeling

while giving a report in class, speaking at an
assembly, checking board results, listening to
thunderstorms, walking on a road while street dogs
barking? These are the fears many people are familiar
with at some stage of their life.

IN THIS RESEARCH WE WILL COME ACROSS:

*To know about different types of Fear.

* To know what are the causes of Fear.

*To explore the lifetime experiences of some renowned

personalities about Fear.

*To analyze different data on Fear.

*To educate and aware people about in how many

different senses Fear can exist in them.

*To showcase our views.

INTRODUCTION

The fear project is a unique challenge. One that

leads you to face the discomfort of stress,
anxiety, pressure, expectation, failure, ridicule,
rejection, and everything else that we wish we
could avoid. Your mental wellbeing is your
responsibility. It is your choice to look after it.
However, nobody really teaches you how to do
this, so your mental health often suffers.
What is Fear??
Fear is an emotion induced by a perceived threat that causes entries
to quickly pull far away from it and usually hide.

*Fear may be as simple as a cringe of an antenna in a snail that

is touched, or as complex as existential anxiety in a human.
What are the reactions on our body while we
experience Fear?
The fear reaction starts in our brain and spread through the body to
make adjustments for defense. Amygdala a small organ in the
middle of the brain starts functioning and alerts our nervous system.
Many hormones like cortisol and adrenaline are released and our
blood pressure, heartbeat rateincrease.

TYPES OF FEAR
There are so many types of fear but we will see on some
major types of fear which people suffer.
#Glossophobia---- Fear of public speaking.
#Atyhiphobia----Fear of failing.
#Astraphobia----Fear of thunder and lightning.
#Cynophobia----Fear of dogs.
#Hydrophobia----Fear of water.
#Claustrophobia----Fear of confined or crowded spaces.
Negative impacts:

1. Physical health.
Fear weakens our immune system and can cause
cardiovascular damage, gastrointestinal problems such as
ulcers and irritable bowel syndrome, and decreased
fertility. It can lead to accelerated ageing and even
premature death.
2. Memory.
Fear can impair formation of long-term memories and
cause damage to certain parts of the brain, such as the
hippocampus. This can make it even more difficult to
regulate fear and can leave a person anxious most of the
time. To someone in chronic fear, the world looks scary
and their memories confirm that.
3. Brain processing and reactivity.
Fear can interrupt processes in our brains that allow us to
regulate emotions, read non-verbal cues and other
information presented to us, reflect before acting, and act
ethically. This impacts our thinking and decision-making
in negative ways, leaving us susceptible to intense
emotions and impulsive reactions. All of these effects can
leave us unable to act appropriately.
REPORT

Each of us has felt afraid, and we can all recognize fear in many
animal species. Yet there is no consensus in the scientific study of
fear. Some argue that “fear” is a psychological construct rather than
discoverable through scientific investigation. Others argue that the
term “fear” cannot properly be applied to animals because we
cannot know whether they feel afraid. Studies in rodents show that
there are highly specific brain circuits for fear, whereas findings
from human neuroimaging seem to make the opposite claim.

Still, it is common for 10 out of 100 people afraid of something. Our

research is to find how many people are afraid, what fear did they
have, and how they face or solve this situation. In 7.9 billion people
it is very easy to find people by the advanced means of
communication. Few of them
are listed below as we cannot
include all. We divide this list
into two sections, well-known
people and people around us so
that it is clearly visible that any
person in society may suffer
from any type of phobia it is
totally independent of their
conditions.

There are some positive advantages on fear:

Use Fear to Empower:

People think that fear is paralyzing and reduces their potential.

Actually, the opposite is true. Fear can generate super-human feats.
Good examples are those stories where normal people fought
valiantly to save their friends and family from grave dangers.
Good leaders use fear to empower themselves. They use it to
discover the strength that they never knew they had.

Focus on Missing Out:

In many ways, fear is like that repulsive frog, which in reality was a
prince. It remains ugly until you run away from it, but the moment
you confront it, it transforms into an opportunity to get to higher
levels.

Rather than being afraid about losing security, comfort and

predictability, start fearing about losing opportunities in life, start
fearing about being mediocre. Use fear to your advantage. Fears
come with you.

Leadership Takeaway:

Fear can be a leader’s best friend if leveraged effectively. Confront

your fears. Use it to traverse from your comfort zone to the courage
zone.

Some real-life examples related to fear:

1983’s Indian Cricket Team
Kapil Dev(captain) is the only person who thinks they may win. All
others have no fear to play better even many of them think it was a
free vacation trip of the so-so day. And Kapil dev says, "We were
mentally strong enough and that's what the 1983 team was all about.
Rest is history and it's good to talk about that. I am proud of my
team, we created history and people can talk about that. Playing the
World Cup was never pressure, it was a pleasure" in an interview.

Akshay Kumar
Akshay Kumar made a startling revelation in an interview given to
IANS. He may be a master of martial arts and an action hero, but
Akshay Kumar is not free from what he calls "good fears". During
the interview, he said, "I fear everything, and these are called good
fears. I fear even jumping from a stool because I want to take care of
myself and make sure I don't hit my leg or hurt my knee."

Fear for common people

For people around us, we try to include as many as we can. We
generate a google form link and share it via social media. To take
the perspective of our classmates, family members, neighbors, etc.
on fear.

From their views, we conclude some points and

made a survey.
Survey
Ques. Which age group is more affected by fear?

Ques. How do you think to avoid these phobias?
