Clash of Clans Reflection

Our website consists of the “Fruits” unit and its exercises/activities. We chose this unit

because it has necessary vocabulary items such as fruits and useful information about simple

instructions. Since the students are young, this unit would help attract their attention and keep

it for a longer time because of the unit’s activities and its colorful contents. While writing the

lesson plan and designing its activities, it was important to utilize and implement the steps of

the A.S.S.U.R.E Model.

As a group, we believe that students of this age need a good balance between teacher

instruction and activities to keep their attention and make them learn about the subject more

efficiently and effectively. This is why we included colorful and fun activities that students

can both do with the teacher, their peers, and all together as a classroom. This kind of

interaction is required for a healthy classroom environment and the use of the A.S.S.U.R.E

Model helps with it.

Our unit plan consists of 3 lessons which consist of 2 lesson hours each. In the 3rd

lesson, we made a Google Forms questionnaire which can be given as both homework for

students as a contingency plan or can be done in the class. The questionnaire consists of fruit

names which were covered in the 1st lesson and simple instructions which were covered in

the 2nd lesson. This Google Forms questionnaire can be used as a reminder of the previous

lessons and as an ending activity for the unit.
