START SEQUENCE: (1) From the Control Console the kind of operation can be selected by S/S for ‘Flushing’ or ‘Full Operation’ {a)-_ FLUSHING: If selected for flushing, the 50HP (K1) motor (Root Blower) is « started through ‘START’ push button and stoped through: ‘STOP’ push button, in this case Screw Feeder motor (K2) 30HP would not start at all. (b)- FULL SYSTEM OPERATION: Selected for system logic, SOHP (K1) motor starts first through ‘START’ push button and 30HP (K2) motor starts after ‘ 30 secomds or the selected time delay (T1). When the ‘STOP’ push button is pressed, K2 motor is stoped immediately and K1 stops after 30 seconds or the selected time delay (T2) Command from Pressure Switch stops and starts K2 only K1 is not effected by P.S. cammand c :OVER LOAD TRIPPING: — oe i (1) Incase K1 trips due to over loading K2 ill also stop immediately. (2) - In case K2 trips due to over loading K1 would stop after 30 seconds or the time delay selected t ‘The over load relays are for manual resetting. Inspect the debégging Hopper grill top, Remove any foreign material, Bag cut-parts, Lumps tc. lying on top. Also inspect if any such lumps, foreign material are lying at the bottom If 50 open the side inspection window at tke Hopper bottom, remove all such debris, before starting. Check up oil level gauge of the Roots Blower and top up to the mark with prescribed Oil Grade, if needing topping Open Inspection Door of the Screw Discharge Box, and remove any debris, foreign materials, Lumps, accumulated therein, if any. Close the Inspection Door Check up all the Nuts and Bolts and Other Fasteners, tighten if found loose. Check up the Vee Belt Drives of Screw and Roots Blower, if found slack, adjust the slackness of the Vee Belts. PLACE THE VEE BELT GUARDS AFTER SUCH ELACE THE VEE BELT GUARDS AFTER SUCH ADJUSTMENT, Re-fill Grease in the Stuffing Box Gland by a grease cup TWICE DAILY, Switch on the power supply and check ifthe Supply Voltage is between 415 and 430 Volts. ‘And all the three phases are energized IN CASE IF POWER SUPPLY TO. ANY OF THE PHASE IS MISSING, SINGLE PHASING OF THE MOTORS SHALL CAUSE EXTREME DAMAGE TO MOTORS OF ROOTS BLOWER AND SCREW DRIVES. OF ROOTS BLOWER AND SCREW DRIVES, Check up all the Cables for any cuts/bruises and report to the Engineer-in-charge for remedial action Clean the Suction Air Filter of the Roots Blower, Twice EvERy WEEK by reverse blowing Compressed Air. Don not clean in Kerosene or Diesel. IN CASE THE SUCTION FILTER IS CLOGGED, REPLACE THE FILTER ELEMENT BY NEW ONE. PUT THE CONTROL PANEL IN MANUAL MODE PRESS START BUTTON, 12 i Page No. 5 The Roots Blower shall start first. Allow the Blower to run for about 5 minutes. To clear the conveying line. For No-material- conveying condition the Blower Discharge Line Pressure Gauge should not show above 0.15- 0.20 kg/cm” pressure. In case the pressure shown by the pressure gauge is high. it indicates that the discharge line is clogged OR Eductor Nozzles in the Discharge Box are clogged/choked. In this case allow the Blower to run for longer period, simultaneously tapping the Discharge Line, to dislodge any material accumulated therein, while keeping the Blower running till the discharge line is clear and pressure shown by gauge comes to 0.15-0.20 kg/m? Should it show higher pressure, with normal ceprént feeding it indicated clogging/constriction in Air discharge line from the Blower Or clogging of Eductor Nozzle in the Discharge Box. In this case the Machine MUST be stopped by pressing STOP push-button. Open the side inspection covers of the discharge box, Clean the Discharge Box of any debris lying in there, Ciean the air Eductor Nozzle by a Wire. Re-fit the Inspection covers of the Discharge Box. RESTART THE MACHINE. PUT THE CONTROL PANEL IN AUTO MODE. PRESS START BUTTON. Roots Blower shall start first. Afier pre-set time lag (usually 2, 50-3.0 Minutes, the screw motor shall start automatically. Start debagging of cement bags into the Debagging hopper, removing all the cut bag-pieces, loose threads/fibers, lumps, so that they do not go into the screw: Read the pressure of blower discharge line, it should read between 0.40 — 0.80 kg/cm? reading. Repeat steps (13) to (18) Ifthe Air pressure reading is within the limits mentioned in step (18), then continue the operation STOPPING THE MACHINE. Stop feeding debagged cement into the feeding hopper, tll the hopper is completely empty, iti vi Page No.6 « Allow the machine to run for 10 minutes, till the pressure gauge reading shows 0.10- 0.15 Kg/em? reading, {connect a 1" rubber hose to a compressed air line, and clean the machine by air-jet blowing till all the loose cement etc. lying on the machine is blown off Check up the entire machine, for any loose Fasteners, connections and adjust, tighten the same STOP THE MACHINE BY PRESSING STOP BUTTON, STOP POWER SUPPLY BY SWITCHING OFF THE MAIN POWER SUPPLY SWITCH, SEL BY SWITCHING OFF THE MAIN POWER SUPPLY SWITCH, COVER THE DEBAGGING HOPPER TOP WITH A PLY-WOOD / PLASTIC COVER. Open Inspection Door of the Screw Discharge Box, and remove any debris, foreign materials, Lumps, accumulated therein, if any. Clean air nozzle opening by help of a wire.. Close the Inspection Door. Check up all the Nuts and Bolts and Other Fasteners, tighten if found loose. Check up the Vee Belt Drives of Screw and Roots Blower, if found slack, adjust the slackness of the Vee Belts, PLACE THE VEE BELT GUARDS AFTER SUCH ADJUSTMENT, Refill Grease in the Stuffing Box Gland by a grease cup TWICE DAILY. ‘Switch on the power supply and check if the Supply Voltage is between 415 and 430 Volts. And all the three phases are energized. IN CASE IF POWER SUPPLY TO ANY OF THE PHASE IS MISSING, SINGLE PHASING OF THE MOTORS SHALL CAUSE EXTREME DAMAGE TO MOTORS OF ROOTS BLOWER AND SCREW DRIVES. Check up all the Cables for any cuts/bruises and report to the Engineer-in-charge for remedial action. Clean the Suction Air Filter of the Roots Blower, AFTER EVERY 04 HRS OF OPERATION, by reverse blowing Compressed Air. Do not clean filter element in Kerosene or Diesel. Page No. 8 .: Switch on the Power Supply, Check up the Incoming Voltage on all the Three Phases of Power supply, by Voltage selector switch on the Control Panel. In case voltage on any of the Phase is less than 410-430 Volts or the Voltmeter shows No-Voltage, Check up the Switch Fuse Unit for any blown-up Fuse. If so replace the Fuse Unit Switch on the Power supply and re-check. In case the fault still persists, call in Electrical engineer to check-up the system. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES MOTOR SHOULD BE STARTED IN CASE OF SINGLE PHASING OR LESS-VOLTAGE ON ONE OF THE PHASES. THIS SHALL CAUSE IRREPAIRABLE DAMAGE TO THE DRIVE, MOTORS. WEEKLY. a) b) °) d) e) 8) hy Repeat all the maintenance schedule listed under “DAILY” Open the inspection cover of material Discharge Box of the Screw Pump. Check up for any foreign material, hardware pieces, or Lumps, Remove the same. Measure the Tip-Clearance between the Screw flights and Cylindér Barrel of Screw Pump If it exceeds 2.0 mm then remove the Screw Flight section, as described in the Assembly and Dismantling Section Replace with the New or Reconditioned Screw Flight section by overlay of hard- facing material. Rotate the Screw Shaft, to check up for the free-running Close the Inspection cover of the Discharge Box. Check up the Vee Belt slackness of Screw and Blower Drive. In case any of the Vee- Belt is excessively elongated or is having cuts and bruises, replace the same with the Vee Belt having equivalent inner length. Check-up the Screw Shaft Seals. In case they are worn out, then replace the same with the New Seals. Refill the Lantern Ring in Seal Housing with fresh Grease. Re assemble. Check-up the Lubricating Oil quality of the Roots Blower Gear-Chamber. In case the Oil shows contamination of discoloring, drain out the old Oil and fill the chamber with New Lubricating Oil of the prescribed grade. Check up all the Electric Cable connectors for tightness, Motor Starter Contacts (Clean the Contacts by Emery Paper to remove the Flash/Pits ete. Check up the setting/working of the Over-load Relays, Single Phase Preventers. Check up the Fuses and replace if found blown-out or faulty Check up the contacts and working of Pressure switch and adjust / set right if not working satisfactorily. MONTHLY. QUARTERLY, a) Repeat all the maintenance schedules listed under “DAILY”, “WEEKLY” and “MONTHLY”. b) _Dismantle Screw section of the Screw pump. ©) Remove Vee Belts Guard, Vee Bel:s, and Vee Belt pulley of the Screw pump Shaft 4) Remove the shaft. ©) Remove top Covers of Screw pump Shaft Bearings. Inspect Bearings, In case bearings show signs of wear, and then replace the samé, Refill new ball bearing grease, Assemble the Plummer Blocks, £) Remove the Shaft Seals; Replace the same with New Seals, Refill grease in the Lantem Ring. 2) Assemble Shaft, Screw Section ete. h) _Re-grease bearings of Motors of Sc-ew Drive and Roots Blower drive. i) Check up other parts for unusual wear and tear and replace if found necessary, i) Checkup all the bolts/ nuis and other fasteners, tighten if found loose }) Open the suction elbow of the Roots Blower and Cheque-up for any deposit on the Rotor Lobes. In case they show fine dust deposits, Open the Roots blower, as per ‘manufacturer's instructions, clean all the Lobes, as per directions, and reassemble the Roots Blower. Fill with new Lubricating Oil, Fit new suction Filter element 1) Re-fit Vee Belt pulley, Vee Belts, Balt guard etc. etc YEARLY. a) Repeat all maintenance schedules Listed above under Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly. The screw type material feeder, Model SCP-’ 50 is a mechanism for feeding fluidisable, é pulverized powders, especially those having abrasive properties, into pneumatic-pressure conveyor system, The material is fed to the inlet by means ofa suitable feeding attachment, from whence it is conveyed to the mixing chamber by means of fast rotating screw. At the end of the mixing chamber is located Check valve actuated by a torsional spring, In the mixing chamber the material is mixed with the air and transported along the delivery line to the recipient storages 2, MAINTENANCE AND ROUTINE INSPECTION. a. The two bearing housings are to be packed with 50% grease. If too much grease is packed, overheating of the bearings will ensure, which will lead to premature malfunction. Lightly grease the contact surface of the V-rings in front of the bearing, housings, The use of multi-purpose Lithium Base grease for the Screw Shaft Bearings is, recommended. b. MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS OF SCREW FEEDER SEALS. i) Thoroughly clean all individual parts. ii) Press Oil seals item No. 25 in sealing case item 24. Make sure that they are mounted in the correct portion, (as shown in the Drawing). Insert the Lantern Ring item, No. 26 as the fourth ring iii) Mount wear sleeve item No, 28 on the shaft item No. 8, Fasten driving Disc by screws item No. 6 iv) Before mounting sealing case item 24 on the shaft item No. 8 fill grease sealing seals item 25 v) CAUTION: > Carefully move sealing rings tem No. 24 over wear sleeve item No. 28 Make sure that the sealing rings are not damaged vi) Bolt sealing case to flange. Ensure that the sealing case is centrally located on the shaft. vii) Thoroughly lubricate grease nipple on Seal Ring Housing Page No. 15 Every week, check the tension of the motor Vee Belts and tighten if needed. Also tighten up the socket head screws in the taper lock sleeves in the pulleys. Check the check valve inside the mixing chamber case for smoothness of action and face of check plate. Check the screw unit for wear of the first flights in front of the Check Valve. If there are signs of wear, renew the hard facing or substitute the screw unit with a new one. NOTE: After every reconditioning of the welding of flights, the screw has to be dynamically balanced. W UNI DISMANTLING OF THE Si i) Dismantle cone item No. 13 & 14 by opening the Bolts. ji) Lift the NR valve and Pull out the worn out insert item No. 6 off the shaft, from the shaft after unscrewing item No. 7 & 7.1 and taper lock. iti) ‘Tap the screw to become loose. iv) Take out the Screw. DISMANTLING OF THE SCREW SHAFT. i) Take out the screw unit, as stated in (8) above. ii) Slacken mounting bolts of the Drive Motor, Slide the motor towards the screw shaft to ensure that the Vee belts are in position to be removed. iii) Remove Vee belt guard and remove the Vee belts. iv) Slacken the Allen Bolts of Vee Belt Pulley Taper Sleeve, v) _ Remove the Vee Belt Pulley. vi) Open Bearing Housings item, No. 31, straighten the Lock Nut Lock Washer, lug and loosen the Bearing Lock-nut ‘Tap the Bearings Lock Sleeves, :0 loosen the bearings over it. vii) Pull out the screw shaft to the mixing chamber and dismantle the following one after the other: > V-Rings 2 Nos. > Self aligning Bearings with adopters > Vrings ( > Stuffing Box side cover > Blow Ring. c eheeneee Page No. 16 10. Page No. 17 SOME Don’ts AND SAFETY PRECAUTIO: Danger of injury and damage of equipments and environments if the equipments is incorrectly operated or maintained Employ and use only instructed skilled workers. They must be familiar with the safety regulations before starting work Do not remove, disconnect or disable a safety device because this may expose you and others to the danger of > Serious injury from moving mechanical parts > Death by electric shock Before starting cleaning etc. of the machine / bag hopper SWITCH OF THE MAIN SWITCH and LOCK THE SAME, GIVING THE KEY TO YOUR SUPERVISOR. Fimergency Stop switch should be in the reach of the Operator, Bag Cutting Labourers, to {helitate emergency stoppage ofthe machine, in case of any mishap or defective operation of the equipment. Before unlocking the EMERGENCY STOP punch button and restarting machine, check that there is no possible danger or damage Pefore commencement of any mdintenance or repair to the machine, Stop Switch is pressed, Lock the Emergency switch and hand over the Key to your supervisor Fefore removal of safety fittings like Covers, Belt Guards, Shaft Guards, see thatthe persons doing this work are all wearing tight clothes and no loose garment ete i allowed Tf maintenance / repair work is not carried out properly it can result serious damage to the persons working around and the equipment The machine must be switches off and Power supply be cut off, before dismantling / maintenance / repair to the machine Do not stand / put your hand at the discharge end of Air hose/ Material discharge hose. Proper care should be taken for the correct installation of the machine in order to function the machine smoothly. Mount the accessories, safety devices, vibration Pads and Sound damping devices etc. carefully. Kindly refer the drawing No. Ks-107. 5.2 When stored on the site, the machine should be protected against dirt and dust, moisture and mechanical damage. 6.0 ALIGHMEN’ 6.1 When bare machine is supplied, Full care should be taken for its perfect alignment with prime mover. 6.2. Levelling of appropriate thickness to obtain co-axiality. 6.3 When machine is belt driven extra care is to be taken for correct alignment to avoid any side thrust to the Bearings. Machine and Motor should be positioned in such a way that the axis of both are parallel. The pulleys should be driven in on the shaft as much as possible in order to minimise bending effect of the shaft. V-belts are tight ended in such a way that V-belt drive should be able to depress by hand about 50mm. at the mid distance of the two pulleys. Too tight belt may damage the machine & motor. Pulleys must be secured by means of locking washers. 6.4 After mounting machine and motor properly on the base frame, it should be placed on the premade foundation, levell it up, and tighten the foundation bolts. ENSURE MACHINE IS ROTATING FREE WITH HAND. DO NOT FORGET TO FIX THE COUPLING GUARD. 7.0 PIPING 7.4 In case SGRK (compact version) machine is ready to take on service line (after connecting discharge pipe & electric motor). 7.2. When Bare Machine is supplied following care is to be taken. (a) Select correct size of pipe & flanges. (b) The piping flanges do not transist stresses to the machine either tensile compassion or lateral stresses. (c)_ The pipes are to be thick walled and properly supported & suspended. (d)_ Avoid sharp bends. (e) Provide condensats trap at the lowest position of section & delivery side. (f) Ensure that pipes are throughly cleaned from inside before connecting. Ref. Drg. No. Ks - 106 8.0 ACCESSORIES 8.1 SUCTION AIR FILTER The air filter prevents entering of dust, dirt or forign material into the working chamber thus it safeguards the machine. 26 aa 13. 14, (NVE MAINTENANCE (a) Oil Change :- It machines is running continuously change the oil monthly or early if discoloured. Drain out the oil from both sides by bottom drain plugs and refill fresh oil. Ensure drain plugs are fully tightened and no leakage from plugs. (b) Check for any leakage through oil seal, ifnecessary replace it. (©) Ensure all fastners are fully tightened. OVERHAULING :- Machine should be overhauled every 10,000 hours or every two years by our specialist. DISMANTLING PROCEDURE : (Type SGR - 110 to 122) - Remove Coupling OR ‘V’ pulley with the help of removing tools. - Drain out oil from both side by unscrewing Drain plug (pt. no. 146) - Remove KEY (142) and then Distance Ring (19) alongwith ‘O’ Ring (120) - Remove Dowel pins (136/137) from Outer cover A side then remove Outer Covers of both sides. (A side means Drive side & B side is Non-drive side) - From B side remove pressure flangess (132) non Gears can be taken out easily with Tensioning Element (131) & also remove Intermediate ring B (128). - Remove HH Bolts (123) & washers (124) and pressing rings (125) on B side. - Remove Dowel pins with nuts & then LN Cap screw from both sides. (135/137). - With the help of extra tapped holes provide in casing cover A & B take-out both covers from casing. Note: Before dismentling the machine verify the punch mark on both Gears and A side 15. shaft faces for their relative correct position. If it is not done then mark these positions. ASSEMBLY PROCEDURES : (Type SGR - 110 to 122) Assembly procedure is just reverse that of dismantling. Ensure that all components are reassembled in previous positions only. The Blower may only be assembled by experienced person. Assembly should not be take place until all components have been thoroughly cleaned. It is advisable to replace all sealing parts (i.e. Gaskets, Oil Seal, O Ring etc.) 1 (Self Aligning Roller Bearing-112: Beari Clean Baring (112) properly & put in casing cover housing with slightly push. Then insert the withdrawl sleeve (113) on shaft and press same into conical bore with hand then put oil splash guard (116) Distance bush (117) & Lock nut / washer (118).
