Method for removing heavy metal ions in seaweed extract based on electrodialysis technology and device
thereof

Technical field

The invention belongs to the field of membrane separation, in particular to a method and a device for removing
heavy metal ions in an algae extract based on electrodialysis technology, and the removal of heavy metal ions in
the seaweed extract by electrodialysis.

Background technique

Seaweed extract is a pure natural marine biological product containing alginic acid, crude protein,
multivitamins, enzymes and trace elements. After absorption through the skin, this nutrient can reduce surface
blood lipids and enhance surface hematopoiesis. And there are functions of weight loss, heat preservation and
thickening. Seaweed extract has a wide range of uses. In agricultural applications, it can promote plant growth,
improve soil water retention capacity, promote the growth of beneficial microorganisms and strengthen soil
health; in medical applications, it has anti-tumor effect and anti-cancer effect. Seaweed extract is the main
component of brown algae cell wall, while seaweed cell wall is the main accumulation place of heavy metal ions
(mercury, arsenic, lead, chromium, copper, nickel, etc.). When seaweed extract is enriched with a large amount
of heavy metal ions, it will be greatly reduced. The functional action of seaweed extracts may even produce
toxic effects, so the removal of heavy metals from seaweed extracts is the key to their function.

Traditional heavy metal treatment methods have obvious shortcomings: chemical precipitation has a large
dosage of chemicals, high cost of chemicals, and there is a risk of secondary pollution; adsorption of heavy
metals in general is more efficient, but the reaction conditions are more stringent, adsorption Reagent
regeneration is usually difficult, and there are difficulties in solid-liquid separation and disposal of adsorbents,
which is not conducive to the recovery of heavy metal ions. Biological treatment of heavy metal ions has the
disadvantages of slow propagation rate and reaction rate of functional bacteria, and difficulty in recycling the
treatment liquid. Moreover, when the concentration of heavy metal ions is high, the growth of microorganisms
is inhibited; in addition, patent CN107497502 discloses the use of strong acidic ion exchange resins to remove
heavy metal ions in seaweed, but the ion exchange resin requires a large amount of chemicals to be regenerated
and eluted. water. Therefore, how to efficiently remove heavy metal ions in the seaweed extract without
reducing its functional function, without secondary pollution, reducing the cost of heavy metal ion removal, and
making the seaweed extract exert its maximum effect, will become an urgent need for the skilled person in the
art to solve The problem.

Summary of the invention

In view of the technical deficiencies of the existing removal of heavy metal ions in seaweed extracts, the present
invention provides a method and apparatus for removing heavy metal ions in seaweed extracts based on
electrodialysis technology, and the present invention has the present invention compared with the prior art. The
utility model has the advantages of low chemical consumption, low energy consumption, good separation effect,
compact and durable equipment, high ion recovery rate and no secondary pollution.

In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a method for removing heavy metal ions in
an algae extract based on electrodialysis technology, which comprises the following steps:

(1)The seaweed extract solution is pretreated to remove the solid particles and then transferred to the raw
material liquid storage tank;
(2)The seaweed extract solution in the raw material liquid storage tank is pumped into the desalination
chamber, and the equal concentration of water is injected into the concentration chamber, and then the
desalination chamber circulation pump, the polar chamber circulation pump and the concentrating chamber
circulation pump are turned on, and electrodialysis is performed. The DC reactor is added to the membrane
stack. Under the action of the DC electric field and the anion and cation exchange membranes, the heavy metal
ions (mercury, arsenic, lead, chromium, copper, nickel, etc.) in the seaweed extract continuously migrate from
the desalination chamber to the concentration chamber. Further, the removal of heavy metal ions in the seaweed
extract is achieved.

(3)According to the value of the conductivity meter of the desalination chamber and the concentrating
chamber, it is judged whether the electrodialysis device reaches the end point of the operation, and after the set
conductivity value is reached, the electrodialysis device stops working, and the desalination chamber discharge
valve and the concentrating chamber discharge valve are opened. The seaweed extract solution and the
concentrate are discharged from the electrodialysis unit.

(4)During the operation of the electrodialysis unit, the membrane stack should be cleaned periodically to
increase the service life of the ion exchange membrane. During the cleaning, the cleaning tank passes through
the raw material liquid storage tank and enters the electrodialysis unit without any DC electric field. Cycling
cleaning, general physical cleaning is washed by distilled water, and chemical cleaning is performed by the
disposed chemical. The chemical agent may be a reagent such as citric acid, hydrochloric acid, sodium
hypochlorite or sodium hydroxide. The cleaning tank includes a physical cleaning tank and a chemical cleaning
tank.

Further, the seaweed extract in the step (1) may be a digestive juice of the seaweed extraction process, and does
not require an acidification or calcification treatment process, specifically: washing the seaweed with water,
removing water-soluble impurities such as inorganic salts, and chopping Thereafter, after adding sodium
carbonate for digestion, filtration or air flotation, a sodium alginate solution is obtained, which is an sodium
alginate extract.

Further, to the effluent of the desalting chamber in the step (3), an appropriate amount of NaOH solution is
added, and then concentrated into an ultrafiltration membrane device for concentration, and then centrifuged and
dried to obtain a sodium alginate product.

time, the cleaning is performed first, then the physical cleaning is performed first, then the chemical cleaning is
repeated twice, and finally the physical cleaning is performed.

desalination chamber circulation pump and the concentrating chamber circulation pump are turned off, and the
desalination chamber discharge regulating valve and the concentrating chamber discharge regulating valve are
opened to discharge the liquid in the desalination chamber water tank and the concentrating chamber water tank.

level by the online liquid level detector, the chemical cleaning feed valve, the raw material liquid feed regulating
valve, the raw material liquid discharge regulating valve, and the raw material liquid are opened. The material
pump and the concentrating chamber feed regulating valve respectively inject a certain amount of chemical into
the fresh water chamber water tank and the concentrating chamber water tank, open the desalination chamber
circulating pump and the concentrating chamber circulating pump, and the electrodialysis device is circulated in
the case of no DC electric field. After the preset cycle time is reached, the desalination chamber circulation
pump and the concentrating chamber circulation pump are turned off, and the desalination chamber discharge
regulating valve and the concentrating chamber discharge regulating valve are opened to discharge the liquid in
the desalination chamber water tank and the concentrating chamber water tank.
