iRYS – Installation Guide

Installing a multi-license key (NET) on server

The software supports the multi-license hardware key (also called NET key), which allows the use of the program with
multiple workstations simultaneously using only one hardware key on the network.

The NET key can be connected either on a workstation where iRYS software is already installed either on a network server.
If connected to a workstation where iRYS is already installed, no further operation is needed; of course be careful to never
turn off the PC to allow other workstations to access to the key.

If connected to a Server it is necessary to install the key driver: please, run install.bat placed in the software installation
package under the folder ..\DongleKey\Windows.

The number of licenses is variable depending on the model purchased. Typical values are 5, 10, 25, 50, and 250.
The number of licenses does not refer to the maximum number of allowed installations of software but indicates the
maximum number of stations that can simultaneously run the program.
(For example, in the case of a NET 5 license key you will be able to install the software on as many workstations but run
the program solely on 5 simultaneously.)

To properly use the multi-license keys (NET), you make sure that port 1947 TCP / UDP is enabled. Workstations that must
use the multi-license hardware key (NET) must be connected within the same network domain and subnet mask. Multi-
license keys cannot be used in Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) mode. All active options on the NET key will be available to
all connected workstations.

If both a local hardware key (connected on the PC where you are running the software) that a NET key (connected for
example on the Server) are in use, priority will be given to the local key.
