DEVELOPMENT
Chapter 1 will discuss the importance of the professional development and ignite your
interest to the lifelong learning, maintaining and improve professional competence and
enhance career progression to keep abreast of new technology and practices.

Professional Development is all about learning and earn or maintain profession


credentials such as academic degrees to formal coursework, attending conference, and
informal learning opportunities situated in practice

• PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
1. It refers to the continued training and education of an individual in regard to his or her
career.
2. The goal of professional development is to keep you up. to-date on no current trends as
well as help you develop new skills for the purpose of advancement in the field.

licensure and ensure employees are up to standard.
4. However, you can typically pursue professional development on your own through
programs offered by educational institutions, professional organizations, or even your own
employer

required before you can land a job as a seafarer. without this training, you are not allowed to
sign a contract for a job in a vessel.
