Conjunction

A. Definition: A conjunction is a word used to connect words, phrases and clauses.

B. Types of conjunction:
1. Because : tell us the reason (menjelaskan alasan)
2. And : connect two ideas (menghubungkan 2 kata/kalimat)
3. But : shows contrast (menggabungkan kalimat pertentangan)
4. Or : gives alternatives (digunakan untuk memilih)
5. So : tell us the result ( menyatakan hasil)

1. Because
a. Rusda gets punished
b. Rusda came late.
Result : Rusda gets punished because he came late.
2. And
a. I like study English
b. I like study math
Result : I like study English and Math.
3. But
a. Riyan is smart
b. Riyan is lazy
Result : Riyan is smart, but he is lazy.
4. Or
a. Do you like ice tea?
b. Do you like ice coffee?
Result : Do you like ice tea or ice coffee?
5. so
a. cinta is sick.
c. Cinta doesn’t go to school
Result : cinta is sick, so she doesn’t go to school.
